December 1999
12-30-99 (16:40)
think mom's computer is working now.
uncle's needs work...hopefully the damn scanner and printer get along otherwise
i'm fucked.
doing a lot of driving all over the city.
if everyone drove a stick shift the world would be a better place: 1) better
gas mileage 2) less braking in traffic leads to more constant flow of traffic
only in LA can you be driving a 67 bug while being surrounded (litterally)
by expeditions, 8-series Benzs, Bentleys, etc. at one point today I was
surrounded by 8 cars in traffic and the total cost of the 8 must have been
over 1 million dollars. Ferraris, Rolls Royces, etc. I see them all over
the place driving like idiots while talking on their cell phones. quite
amazing.
12-26-99 (19:03)
being at home loses its luster really fast.
i hate computers. note to all: don't ask me for help with computers because
i don't like fucking things up even more. that makes two years in a row.
xmas was fine.
bye.
12-20-99 (14:41)
went to another rage against the machine concert...of course it rocked,
but we weren't on the floor so it wasn't as good.
there's a big difference between being a spectator to the music and being
part of the music.
at any rate it was good...gang starr was a lot better this time and last
time they weren't that bad. they learned a lot in regards to dealing with
rage against the machine fans. they got down the whole flicking people
off thing pretty nicely. they pumped the crowd up more and bored them less,
this time around.
the great western forum is kinda gay. they had the sound board in the middle
of the floor and then they had refreshments on the floor too. there was
less room for people on the floor and making a mad dash for it wasn't really
an option like it was at arco arena. they were much better staffed, but
then again it is LA.
the mosh pits got pretty bad, but for the most part were pretty woosie-esque.
it seemed to me that in sacramento anytime in the mosh pit would have been
a serious time, whereas in LA most of the time it was just running in circles,
but when they got serious, they got pretty serious.
rage changed their lineup... 1) Testify 2) Guerrilla Radio 3) People of
the Sun 4) Calm Like A Bomb 5) Bullet in the Head 6) Ghost of Tom Joad
7) Vietnow 8) Sleep Now In The Fire 9) Born of a Broken Man 10) No Shelter
11) Know Your Enemy 12) War Within A Breath ENCORE 13) Bulls on Parade
14) Rare Filler Track (might be boomerang - NOT year of the boomerang)
then he had a speech about Mumia Abu-Jamal 15) Freedom 16) Killing in the
Name
need to go xmas shopping.
12-18-99 (12:46)
aol and walmart join forces. microsoft and best buy join forces. gay.
las vegas leads in population growth...who says our country isn't going
to hell?
done with school
leave today. won't update very much...maybe twice.
finals were pretty good.
during the hell week my paper grades are as follows: B on the English porn
star paper (she said it was 'well written' but too liberal, 88/100 on the
History 17A paper, 96/100 on the POL 163 paper, and an A on the English
Designated Hitter Debate paper. haven't gotten back the POL 131 paper yet....did
the worst on that one i think.
12-17-99 (03:28)
mumia talks on WTO
did final update for the landmark
cds in my life thing.
next year's budget is going to suck ass unless my job pays well. it won't.
car and rent increase (again).
i don't know what to get hattie, scott, gio, or stacy for xmas. i want
to give custom CDs, but most people, except stacy and maybe vern, don't
seem to really enjoy them.
i've got a final at 1030. i should study for that some more.
i slept 18 hours...from 9am to 3am. that's a record for me.
i'm done with work. they threw a big ass party for me and everything. that's
a lie.
jon was using my line for the last 30 something hours...but now it seems
to be done.
winamp changed their site big time.
i'm going to buy apocalypshit the CD tomorrow.
my back hurts because i slept too long. i may be getting sick. damn stacy.
updated recent movies list.
updated
cd list.
not sure why i update mp3 list or cd list or movies list or any of those
stupid lists because people don't really look at them and they only waste
my time and make it easier to procrastinate.
bye
12-15-99 (01:02)
vern's got this idea of posting a few CDs that made him a man on johnny's
webpage. it's kind of like my 3 cd set of landmark songs i made when i
was bored and really into making mix CDs. it's a good idea, of course,
but it's also more 'self-indulgent' than a webpage. this is the enigma
that is vern. naturally i have no problem at all with it, after all i post
more self-indulgent things than that - my papers online, my gay cd list,
etc....all on MY webpage...boy i'm so full of myself it's sickening. at
any rate i think it's a good idea so in addition to the 'landmarks' cds
i made a while back, i'll also be posting a few full albums that have defined
certain periods of my life....oh and vern don't take the above commentary
personally if you happen to read this, take it for what it is - an observation.
and should you happen to observe that i'm an asshole then, please, point
that out. here
i'm craving mountain dew...i'm officially a fiend.
ac/dc - big balls. very good song.
12-14-99 (20:02)
if i'm not at home i'm at work, school, or out with one of my roommates.
this implies i have nowhere else to go. i should get new friends.
when i think of a song i usually can't remember how the beat goes. i can
usually remember approx. how long it is. i have to watch a movie several
times before remembering specific scenes with any degree of consistency.
my keyboard and maybe some IDE cables are the only things left from my
original computer. this is not to imply that anyone should/does care
bored.
having a cd-writer certainly is nice.
going to start another mindless project - make a list of CDs i 'need' to
copy for my huge waste of money/cds/time - the portable cd collection.
i wish other people organized shit as well as i do so i could borrow from
them as easily.
for being so grounded in reality i sure am quite the dreamer.
tristan says we should eat lunch and talk...i say he should eat me. i'm
unforgiving - i should discover jesus.
12-14-99 (10:31)
i almost regret going to the rage concert before any others. it amazed
and moved me so much that i don't think any other show could do that. the
beastie boys will be amazing in a different way, but other than that i
think most concerts are going to suck in comparison.
i took one final today...history 17a, american history up to the civil
war. wasn't so great. got back the paper in that class was good enough
to take away the potential bad grade on the final. the TA likes me too
so the discussion grade should be decent...i actually talked in class so
that doesn't hurt...uh well most of the time it didn't.
pretty much have enough money for xmas and car insurance so that's good
considering i don't have a job as of the day after tomorrow. i propose
instead of having to say 'the day after tomorrow'...we should from this
day forth say: 'twomorrows' - it seems that if 'tomorrow' can be replaced
with 'the day after today', then there should be something for 'the day
after tomorrow' - just a thought.
next final is tomorrow at 130pm - shouldn't be too bad.
'because i got it like that' - jungle brothers. good song.
you should do something today.
12-13-99 (05:26)
yes, sleep patterns are not normal at all.
updated recent movies list.
saw green mile tonight.
my friend steve works at the theater and let us in around midnight and
showed me how the projector works and everything...then we had the theater
to ourselves the whole night it was really cool. hattie and manuel brought
stacy and some food. i'd like to work at a theater during the nights so
i could setup the reels and just watch a movie whenever i wanted. damn
that would be cool. the movie was good and sad. i cried. tom hanks is good,
i have to admit it.
put a bunch of my cds into the cdplayer.ini file...somewhat useless...but
might come in handy if i make a giant cd list again.
now that i'm done with my papers i just have finals. yip.
i woke up at around 11pm so it's around 4pm for me...which means i should
be awake for another 7 hours or so. i have a final on tuesday at 8am...so
maybe i'll go to sleep around 2pm and then wake up around 11pm and then
study till my final take it, come home, sleep, study for next final, take
it, sleep, study, study, sleep, study, study, take finals, have sex, sleep,
have sex, go home, sleep. or something.
12-12-99 (12:41)
sleep patterns are amazing lately.
SF plays Atlanta today...there is a good chance they win this one
updated the recent movies
list
need to buy lots of xmas presents...or make lots of cds...
i might be driving up to davis...in a 67 VW bug.
the top 100 lists are starting to pop up more and more and i haven't found
even one that i agree with on more than 50% of the choices...i'm sure all
my friends are tired of hearing my bitching about this or that choice.
12-11-99 (07:04)
well i cleaned the mess...only took a couple hours...i'm tired.
chili peppers do a good version of "love rollercoaster"
forgot what was going here.
going to play a game.
12-11-99 (04:34)
party was overall a success.
my monitor has turned off twice in the last 30 seconds.
updated recent movies list
updated
papers list, not especially
happy about the papers, but you win some you lose some.
drinking to the point that it alters your behavior is something i don't
understand. i also don't really understand love...so take that for what
you will.
place is really dirty...all will be clean though.
my 5-10 shift sucked more than any shift i've ever worked...kids were asking
for it...whatever "it" means. extremely annoying. i was tired all day...and
look at me...awake past my bedtime again.
i'm itchy all over and it sucks.
got paid, but didn't pickup check - dumb.
manuel gave me a ride so that was cool...i didn't miss too much of the
party.
i wanted to write something here, but i forget what it was...
windows 98 is slow. microsoft is the king of false advertising. bill gates
should die.
12-10-99 (01:13)
had overnight...didn't go to sleep...been awake too long.. have to revise
my personal statement and write some papers on short stories i read. i
manage time like i mack on chicks - i don't.
party it tomorrow, hopefully i sleep by then. get paid tomorrow...hell
yea. it should be good
i got my turntable, but wouldn't you know it - the counterweight was nowhere
to be found...so hopefully the woman send me one, otherwise i'm screwed...the
front is way too heavy...other than that it's great...wish i could play
a record.
my monitor sucks more today than ever...turned off, by itself mind you,
about 8 times today....i think i'll just keep it on. i think it needs time
to warm up so i'll just leave it warm if the computer is on.
i've been tired since 5pm when i was falling asleep in class.
i hope my english teacher doesn't think i'm a slacker...i hope i get an
A in that class. i hope i pass poli sci 131. all will be revealed in a
couple weeks.
12-09-99 (0948)
who's the gutterslutt on my message board?
it's funny, jessica t. (a girl who used to be at the shelter - she's "Rebecca"
in my story), was one client i had the least hope for...and as such i looked
at her with a certain amount of disdain and sadness that someone could
be so fucked up - having sex with 30 year olds...whoring herself out...doing
drugs, etc. but then come back later and, after a couple runaways, turn
around 180 degrees...it was fucking uncanny. so at one time i saw her as
everything that was fucked up about society and then later everything that
could be so good. weird like that.
next wednesday is my last day there. i'm not expecting a going away party.
12-07-99 (22:54)
well i'm still awake...gotten 4.5 hours of sleep in the last 3 days almost.
i'm going to sleep soon.
the paper is due on thursday, it turns out that my strategy early in the
year to fool myself ended up working.
updated cd list.
catalog shit is going to work...if not i kill the planet.
in total i consumed 5 liters of mountain dew in less than a week...not
as bad as last quarter, but this morning i was tripping out pretty bad...my
head was having problems and for about 3 hours i couldn't write for shit...i'll
use my extra time to proof-read the essay that isn't due until thursday...flesh
it out a bit on the overnight maybe.
need to tidy up room.
12-07-99 (10:51)
got about another page (double spaced 12 pt) to go before it's finished.
i have over 5 hours before it's due. good.
printing out draft...need to flesh out...organization is fair...arguments
are good...sticking to topic is decent...bleh.
i spent all night getting this room warm...it's nice and toasty now...at
least a 4 degree difference from the kitchen.
12-07-99 (09:51)
around half way done.
12-7-99 (08:30)
mountain dew officially has fucked with my head...i'm having troubles now.
listening to rage...skipped miles davis...need to get back on track.
killing in the name of!
12-7-99 (06:35)
working on the intro now...two paragraphs through...coming along....must
set good base.
dj shadow playing...then coleman and davis.
07:07...oh shit...the mountain dew doesn't taste very good anymore...when
that happened last time i got wasted...better lay off it for a while.
12-7-99 (05:39)
having something to write about and knowing an effective way to organize
it are two separate things...having trouble outlining shit under nice clear
categories....don't want to just say before and after cold war...maybe
before then under that have goals, policies to achieve goals and then the
same for after? don't think that would work...ahhh
why does everyone dog (knock, put down, etc) 70s music? if not for funk,
disco, and glam rock there wouldn't have been the 80s rock of the scorpions,
skid row, guns n' roses...as for funk and disco...uhm can someone say hip-hop?
shiiit! now knocking 90s gay hop and the boy bands of the 80s and 90s i
can understand becuase neither will ever amount to anything except future
mockery.
whodini is bumping now...before was fu-shnickens...go hip-hop.
next is dj shadow...both cds of the preemptive strike...speaking of which
i should get back to writing about the cold war and its end having an effect
on US democracy.
90% of the 30 richest countries are in temperate (as opposed to tropical)
zones.
67% of the world's infections are in Africa.
GNP per capita in Sweden is over 30K, in France its around 15K, in Sudan
its 59 bucks. remember, though, that they farm to subsist so if they didn't
make any money at all they would still be living...albeit without DVD and
Windows...as for the latter they are lucky bastards...the former (DVD)
i can understand them not liking having to do without.
of the children who die before the age of five - 98% are from Africa.
Burundi life expectancy - 41. Canada 76. Congo 48.
5:55 someone's car alarm is going off.
strategy is spelled using one had all the to the end...it's hard to type
strategy fast. fuck, however, is really easy.
if you know how to program make a program for me: i'd like to be able to
say to people when giving them my phone number that my number is "newsexy"
or whatever it might be...however i don't have the time to figure out if
my phone number works out to spell anything...so make a program that does
that and you will be cool...and kind of a dork.
12-7-99 (4:53)
starting outline now. i suck. win98 sucks more.
12-7-99 (04:03)
stomach be hurting.
no doubt cd (tragic kingdom) has more funk elements than i thought...it's
better than the last time i listened to it too.
haven't started yet...i have 12 hours left. going to write the outline
right now.
man the no doubt cd is a lot more diverse sounding than i ever remember.
weird. not saying it's a check your head or anything, but still...
my interview with Luke is up on his page...it has its moments, but overall
marc's was more funny, i think.
have lots of little things to tend to...like unclutter room, etc....can
wait.
johnny is cool.
advil tastes sweet.
good chance that i get the car during the xmas break.
12-7-99 (03:13)
still haven't started the writing yet.
epmd rocking it.
party is on friday...need to make tapes for that
my receiver has been getting played all day lately. good boy.
12-7-99 (01:23)
took a three hour nap after class and initial library research.
now i'm reading the books. i have about 15 hours to finish...oddly enough
i looked at the syllabus and it says it's a 10-15 page paper, but he changed
it to a max of 10 (this i'm sure about...it's in my notes), but on my calender
i have it as due tomorrow...the syllabus says it's due thursday...but i'm
not risking it...i may have been a really smart guy and written it in on
my calender earlier than it was due just to make sure the paper was good.
or not and it's just a mistake.
fuck computers.
I Fought The Law and the law won.
12-6-99 (09:56)
finished.
finished the english paper
too! be wary of that one...i hope i don't get kicked out of school =)
it's nice and toasty in my room...well not once you open the door, then
all the 63 degree weather from the kitchen comes in my room...dammit!
updated the interesting shit page. be
wary of that too. very wary.
my stomach hurts. i want a ride to school and a ride back. i have to research
mad shit at the library as soon as i get out of class....and start on another
paper.
12-6-99 (07:17)
coming along, but slowly...i'll finish, but with how much time to spare?
listening to muddy waters.
12-06-99 (06:08)
not doing too badly. more than half way done...approaching this in an extremely
scattered way...i'm bouncing all over the place and starting new paragraphs
before finishing others...it might suck.
listening to marilyn manson...but that's not why the paper is scattered...it's
because i'm not sure what they want or if i even have enough information.
i don't know if he wants an analysis of documents or merely for me to use
documents to support my case. what is my argument? i guess that differing
views regarding spirituality and property between indians and white bastards
led to increased conflict culminating in my living in california where
no white person should have lived unless surrounded by indians.
12-6-99 (04:44)
i'm pretty much just starting...way behind.
i need to do my english paper too - it's a 'personal statement' like the
ones for admission into grad school. here's my plan...it'll make the paper
go by waaay faster: many of the same qualities that make me such a great
fucker (note to self: come up with a better word here) also have helped
me achieve success as a scholar. my ability to get hard after cum shot
and prepare for yet another shot at a different angle has made me the desire
of all porn directors; this talent in my studies, too, has proved useful
when faced with difficult situations (use some example like...when i got
hit by a car and run over repeatedly i was able to come back write several
back to back 10 page papers - the cum shot of academia). my versatility
in porn has proven useful and even dubbed me 'position guru' - in my studies
my inclination for and ability in several subjects has garnered much respect
in the liberal arts field - having taken classes from geology and physics
to sociology and philosophy. i'll sum up - as you may have gathered i'm
an interesting, complex, unique individual. i think this diverse combination
makes me a good partner with your university of the same qualities.
elders...please don't reprimand me for the above.
we'll see how it works....it's almost 5 i must start...paper is due at
11am. 5 pages or so to go....thanks to the earlier rough draft.
listened to harmonia 76, tangerine dream, enya, perrey and kingsley, and
now the carpenters...they rock....baby baby baby oh baby...i love you...i
really do!
12-6-99 (01:07)
in almost three hours i haven't gotten anywhere...distractions...lack of
good material...i'm tired...this is sucking right now.
need to listen to rage or shower or run or get laid or find something of
interest in the reading.
mountain dew isn't kickin my ass at all...built up tolerance? gay.
BDP (boogie down productions) was a bit of a disappointment.
oh yea i got another cd too - harmonia 76 with brian eno...pretty decent.
updated wish list
12-5-99 (21:22)
I got eleven cds and all but four were hip hop. one (wyclef's) was just
for the duplicate case so i didn't count that.
hip hop is rocking right now. i've further divided my cd case...i used
to have rock, techno, compilations, spoken word/comedy, jazz, and classical
all seperate...now i added a hip hop category.
so far the biggest surprise is the EPMD...they fucking rock more than i
expected...a tribe called quest and Ice-T i expected to be good, but i
wasn't sure about epmd...as it turns out they're pretty dope...sampling
bob marley, steve miller, kook and the gang, beastie boys, etc. as a genre
hip hop is my favorite...jazz is more interesting and has more history,
but in 20 years hiphop has come so far...except lately with the advent
of what i call gay hop or pop hop. rock of course is a huge genre so i
don't really count that.
i got coleman's free jazz which has a bonus take. and miles davis' bitches
brew so my jazz collection earned 200% of the respect it once had, just
with those additions. now to get some bird and diz. i also got isaac hayes.
overall i'm extremely pleased with the 35 dollars i spent.
i'm also extremely happy with the versatility of my cd case.
i need to start preparing for my paper now....i'll update periodically
during it.
just found a beastie boys sample (that is, a sample the beastie boys used)
from epmd..."it's like the lotto - you have to be in it to win it." they
used it on paul's boutique (1989) from epmd strictly business (1988). dope.
god i love hip hop for that reason, among others.
i like the content of luke's page.
i like the design of phil's page.
i like the diversity of johnny's (i still consider it johnny's) page.
i've noticed that win98 scrolls faster when moving around using the arrows.
12-5-99 (10:55)
overnight was fast...i'm tired.
i have 9 pager due tomorrow. great.
ten pager due the next day. very bad.
i also have a one page english paper (assigned on wed.) due on monday.
fuck.
SF is losing to Cin. Mariucci is going to get fired. we suck. fuck.
updated cd list
i think i watched a movie recently, but i forget what it was...or if i
really did....maybe part of a movie?
i shattered my cd goal...i have 341 (335 was the goal)...i still have xmas
and 26 more days to buy cds.
i have no job as of the 16th.
what if nothing existed? going anymore into that would be futile.
i have lots of new cds...will listen to while doing my history and poli
sci papers.
mountain dew is only 2 liters...may need more.
i'm tired.
my job has sucked big time at parts, but i'm going to miss the good kids...some
of them were really cool.
memories. track was the bomb. so was getting action. so was not having
ten page papers. so was being a freshman
good night. wake me up by 7.
12-04-99 (09:35)
15 hours shift is done and gone. have overnight tonight...i'm going to
sleep.
20 pages of writing due by tuesday. shitorama.
i'm over my cd goal, but i'll update that later.
updated recent movies list
tired.
12-02-99 (12:37)
two papers down. two to go...totalling 19 pages...3 of those pages are
done.
i listened to so many cds tonight it's crazy.
i'm not tired, but i will be...in 6 hours after i get out of class. damn.
12-02-99 (10:55)
been slacking...still not done. maybe another hour. another full page of
single space to go i'd guess.
updated papers list...will be
up by 2pm (POL 163 paper)
12-02-99 (09:31)
question of the day - who is the ebay user with the highest feedback? i've
seen over 5000...if you've seen higher tell me.
12-02-99 (08:36)
my back hurts - massage me please.
i'm a good way through it.
may get to take a one hour nap...i'm not tired though. and after nap proofread
this sucker.
i have 6 more hours. cake.
tom petty is bumping now...before that was tool, preceded by pi soundtrack,
elvis costello, kraftwerk, orbital, green day, white zombie, queen, aerosmith,
deep purple, perrey & kingsley, air, and elo. dman i love 5 da 5 disc
changer. next is ten years after...then i'll exchange four more cds.
12-02-99 (07:52)
let it flow, let yourself go, slow and low that is the tempo. - beastie
boys
flowing now. not ebbing.
12-02-99 (06:22)
w-r-i-t-e-r-s b-l-o-c-k
12-02-99 (06:00)
that was a long break.
http://us.imdb.com/bottom_100_films
(i've seen about five of them...nice list)
12-02-99 (04:12)
moving right along...have the preface and intro pretty much down...now
to the bulk...after a break.
12-02-99 (02:05)
starting...
12-02-99 (01:04)
suffered major setback...talked to phil, but it's all good.
i'm downloading adobe golive 4.0 - html editor type shit.
i'm downloading adobe photoshop 5.5 - i have no use for this (since i have
5.0 already), but i want to download.
12-02-99 (00:22)
dinner took longer than expected, but that's fine. paper will start soon
enough.
exaggeration is the root of ALL evil.
if there is one thing i can't stand it's intolerance.
win98 takes longer to log onto the server.
12-01-99 (22:47)
updated archive page...the november
update was the largest ever...60K.
starting paper...i have a good base of research down. i'm going to eat
and then recap my research...write a brief outline...dick around on the
computer and get started around 1am.
maybe i'll get a couple of easy internet quotes too.
i'm doing (yet another) paper on the tobacco industry. this time it's on
the anti-smoking lobby. i did one paper on the likelihood of the government
cutting the tobacco industry a deal...that was freshman year. then last
year i did a paper on the result of knowledge and the movement to ban television
advertising of tobacco. by my senior year i'll be able to write a book.
speaking of which - i've used the same book as a reference all three times.
i'm most worried about the paper due on tuesday for my foreign policy of
the US class.
i put in my resignation today...well actually stacy is taking it in for
me. i'm not working overnight...hattie wanted to switch and it actually
works out better this way. only problem is i have work from 5p to 8am (fri.
- sat.). that sucks. i kinda wanted to work the overnight with steven on
thursday so i could help him get away from sandy, but doesn't look like
that would work...i have class from 11-1 the next day, then radio show
from 3-4:20, then of course the 5p-8a shift...which was oddly approved.
usually they don't allow 15hour shifts. means lots of dough on my penultimate
pay check, which is fine by me.
i totally forgot it was december...that's why it took me a while to update
the archive page...and i've been writing down all purchases in my november
budget...darn.
water isn't boiling yet. having pasta.
spell check on my email program works after the format (before it didn't).
i have more program crashes, but i've only had one major freeze - thanks
to IE 5.0 of course. i'm going to upgrade right now.
i'll be updating this a lot as a break throughout the night/morning/afternoon.
=)
12-01-99 (15:24)
i want a new
monitor more than anything else on my wish
list. my current monitor turns off whenever it feels like it. this
is a very bad situation when writing papers or doing anything else. i'm
actually afraid it's going to blow up in my face, which would suck. it's
lasted pretty long considering it was in the basement of the peninsula
hotel gathering dust for probably 3 or more years.
went to sleep at 8am...2.5 hours of sleep.
i have lots of material for my paper...23.5 hours left before it's due.
i should take a quick nap now. oops i need to eat first. then i'll sleep
for a couple hours. wake me up at 6pm.
bye.
12-01-99 (00:30)
updated
recent movies list.
again.
it's december - pretty crazy.
first quarter of third year is over in a couple weeks.
this is the beginning of the rest of your (and my) life.
been having quite the time finishing up the catalogs...i've got it down
so that i can let the computer make most of the replacements to separate
the fields though, so that is good.
gn'r live cd is good - they're a better live band than i thought
one paper down...three to go.
researching for the second right now.
don't know what to do for new years...phil wants to go to jon's but there
is going to be quite a few of gaylords there. looks like the trip to SF
might not work either. we'll see.
i should go.
11-30-99 (03:00)
going to sleep soon.
updated papers page...added two
under english 101.
someone has been clicking on my sponsor
a lot.
fuck peace cuz the streets got our babies - 2PAC
english paper is done. need to finish off the history paper - due monday...6
hours maybe.
poli sci paper #1 - 10-15 pages and research (lots) due thursday i have
the overnight on wednesday so i should work on that tomorrow for about
10 hours. then finish it off on the overnight.
poli sci paper #2 - 10 pages and research (lots) due tuesday should work
on that on sunday and monday (translation monday night and tuesday morning).
i've got 4 liters of mountain dew...should buy another 2 liter bottle for
the reserves.
i think the marathon last year gave me too much confidence. too much confidence
is a first for me.
i think i may as well write up my resignation now.
then i'll sleep.
11-29-99 (22:29)
my monitor is dying slowly. damn. good thing they are cheap these days.
bad thing i won't have money.
mov. files are playing now.
davis server is busy. first time in a while.
i have lots to do.
11-29-99 (04:24)
tired again. slept too late. now i'll be more messed up.
updated
recent movies list.
again.
updating win98 with lots of patches. need more RAM.
this is hell week. i won't be updating much if i'm on task.
i'll be updating a lot this week.
i'm not able to play wma files still. not able to play mov or avi files
either. what's wrong? mpegs are fine though. odd.
windows media player sucks more than quicktime.
11-28-99 (09:59)
overnight was good. saw south park. it was really really funny. updated
recent
movies list.
got the custom beastie boys cds, they're cool. i'm not going to add those
to my cd list...that would be cheating i think. i count bootlegs, but not
custom comps. that'll be the rule.
really really tired.
got two 3 hour blocks of sleep last night.
i'm pretty much settled into windows 98 now. it's slower. need ram and
probably a program like the nuts and bolts i had before that speeds up
the menu scrolling. if you have such a tweeking prog....tell me please.
goodnight.
cross fingers for 49ers tomorrow...i'll be working. fuck!
11-27-99 (12:28)
as is always true on format days i went to sleep at 730...why am i awake?
i was going to a football game. i have no idea when it starts. we'll see.
using windows 98 now.
have installed almost everything. transferring all the backed up stuff
from cd took a long time...still transferring mp3s.
some things in win98 run faster, some slower. odd. but so is bill gates.
don't think i missed any big files so i'm pretty much where i left off,
except i have win98.
later.
11-27-99 (02:37)
going to a football game today.
who's the leader of our pack?
only on more overnight shift in the 4 day period from hell.
had work from 5-10 today. tiffany wasn't there so it wasn't nearly as good.
=)
need to catch bus at 420 in order to get to work by 5...bus is usually
10-15 mins late. i woke up at 415. after laying in bed for a second or
two thinking about calling in sick or getting a ride from someone...i jumped
out of bed threw on some clothes and biked to the bus stop...i was five
minutes late and the bus (for the first time ever on a friday) was only
5 minutes late...we got to the bus stop at the same time...close call.
it's a good thing i bike fast.
who's the leader of our pack?
i'm tired.
i should do something productive tomorrow.
it's foggy and sucky. i don't like this weather, but at least it's not
raining.
i have to work monday too, cover for stacy.
who's the leader of our pack? M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E...mickey mouse
(sung by the soldiers amongst the backdrop of a burning town in the movie
full metal jacket in the final scene).
sleep time
11-26-99 (09:20)
monitor just turned off for no reason. great. turned off and back on now
it's working. this is funny.
i might not format. i'm tired. i don't have much time.
overnight was alright...i have work at 5 which means bus at 4 which means
awake by 3 which means less that 6 hours of sleep.
thanksgiving was pretty good.
i have 84 more hits this month than last...last month i had 30 more than
any other month before. wow.
i really hope my computer waits a few months before dying. i saw a 17"
monitor for 129 after rebate...that's crazy. i'd like a nice 15"...ha ha.
i really don't have any money. need to have money for books. quitting job
soon won't help. need sleep. monitor might be needed soon. this one is
older than i am....almost.
need to go to the post office damn.
i'll go and then i'll come back and sleep.
it's cold, foggy, wet, dark, and ugly outside.
11-24-99 (01:22-?)
I'm formatting when I get more CDs - my computer has crashed a few times
and i'm not having any of that bullshit.
i had updated this thing a bit, but then IE screwed me over so the changes
were not saved. screw microsoft - again.
i'm either hot or cold. temperature wise.
about to start actual writing of the 8 page draft due tomorrow (today).
done with outline, more or less.
mountain dew isn't kicking in. gay.
start anyway....hopefully i don't freeze in mid writing.
01:52 - haven't started writing yet. you think anyone could be worse?
starting to get a headache.
i just got a whiff of cheeba, pot, weed, grass, hemp, THC, cannibus sativa,
etc. damn that concert screwed me over in that respect.
i love music.
you were on an island with a couple friends and doing lots of drugs having
a good time and then you and friend number two left (leaving behind friend
number three who was going to stay there another day and then go on a safari
for two years). then after two years you get a call from the island's police
saying that your third friend (you guys were good friends while on the
island, but you haven't heard from him in the last two years) is going
to get executed for drug trafficking unless you and/or the other friend
come to take the wrap along with friend number three who is on the island
still. if just one of the two of you now free men goes home to take the
wrap you will each get 6 years, but if all three of you take the wrap you'll
get 3 years. what would you do?
at the thanksgiving potluck this question was posed and everyone, but me,
said they would go.
i said hell no. think of someone you haven't talked to in the last two
years who may have once been your good friend...i personally can come up
with many - none of which would i throw away 3-6 years of my life for.
this is 3-6 years in a bad prison system mind you. you'll get rat for food.
some bread and muddy water if you're lucky. oh and butt-raping is mandatory.
for three-six years...all for a friend whom you have not heard from for
the last 2 years. granted you were not supposed to hear from them because
of the safari, but i think everyone who answered yes was fooling themselves.
or maybe i'm just a dick. tell me what you think you would honestly do.
here
winamp just crashed. fuck. fuck fuck.
i format friday hopefully. (02:07)
sheryl crow has mad skillz.
not everyone wears sunscreen, but not every person is as wise as the next.
just had deja vu
i'm on my third paragraph, it's 243
348 moving along. might have too much shit to write. it's a rough draft
bear this in mind.
a backscratcher just came in handy, but i prefer one that will kiss me
too.
bed ETA 630am
it's at least 5 degrees warmer in my room than inside the kitchen...advantages
of small room filled with hours of my body heat. speaking of body heat
my bed is cold. where do i come up with this shit?
when i bought four newly released cds today the guy noticed and said 'buying
all the new stuff, eh?' i said 'yep, guns and roses was supposed to come
out, but i guess it got delayed' he said 'yea probably next week'
i hope i get to work at tower. my kdvs peers might have my head for it,
but screw them - it's a music store. jeesh.
back to work. 0408
one more thing - overnights on wednesday and thursday. friday 5-10, my
favorite shift because tiffany works it, and saturday overnight tied for
my favorite shift because hattie works it. that's 35 hours in four days.
oh and thanksgiving is in there somewhere.
i'm thankful that my computer hasn't crashed in the last couple hours.
almost done. it be 512. i don't have too much stuff, but i could if i added
another subtopic...i'll opt to wait for final draft for that. maybe.
537 done. yea!
joe louis was after carl lewis...i didn't name him.
11-23-99 (13:16)
updated cd list
guns and roses delayed to next week.
the beastie boys anthology was worth the liner notes alone...i would have
paid 100 bucks for the 2 cds. a fan's dream. the liner notes are everything
i've ever wanted in liner notes...i've talked before to vern and others
about liner notes talking about each individual song and what the artist(s)
think about the song or any funny stories about the making thereof...the
beastie boys did it. thank you - you guys rock.
beck cd sounds really good so far.
everything about the beastie boys anthology is excellent...on the case
it has pictures of all their albums and singles...it's a visual discography
on the case and on the outside of the case is the same street as the paul's
boutique cover except in black and white and an obviously 90s picture.
it rocks they rock. need to read the notes.
bye
11-22-99 (22:30)
monday night football was interesting - the (fucking) raiders lost. both
teams (denver and oakland) are very alike - they both pretty much self-destruct
and overall suck this year. however both have a lot of talent and potential
to do well. i feel sorry for shannahan and gruden.
jackie and kassia are on kdvs now and kassia had never heard of kraftwerk...that's
amazing.
my history paper has been reduced to 7-9 pages instead of 9 pages. yippee.
my english draft on a controversy of some kind is due wednesday. i'm planning
on doing it on the designated hitter controversy in baseball...thought
that would be more fun than abortion or something equally cliche.
i have to start watching more movies.
got the newest beastie boys (alive) video on mpeg - 40 megs of quality
nathanial hornblower. modern day genius
speaking of which - holy shit! the sounds of science is released tomorrow
- i'm there! along of course with many other great cds....oh and my ass
in a chair working on a damn long essay. but i'll have good music to groove
to.
there was an article in the paper about the rage concert - it was okay,
the writer didn't get the whole quote from zach, but he got the general
idea.
there was another article in the paper (the paper i hardly ever read, but
may start picking up more often in light of the two good articles) by some
guy who was talking about when you're lying in bed with a girl and she
asks 'what are you thinking.' he said that emotions are unable to be expressed
through words...i'd agree. he went on to add that music would better convey
feelings...so if i'm mad maybe one day i'll flip on some korn (ha ha) and
say "that's how i feel."
time to get ill.
11-22-99 (16:46)
forgot to mention about rage concert: there was a fight (which added to
the chaos i described) - i thought it was quite stupid. lots of people
were cheering it on. we were a bunch of romans, but without the bear in
the middle of the ring, more like the two gladiators...
i saw more idiots at the concert than i have seen ever.
i also saw lots of people who actually give a shit. that was encouraging.
redeemed myself with my last history paper...now just to fix my poli sci
131 grade. not an easy task.
i will for the next week grant rage against the machine a 'ghost' number
two spot (in front of led zeppelin and behind the beastie boys) in light
of the concert's greatness (for lack of a better word).
updated wish list
updated cd list
correction - westbam moved ahead of orbital AND propellerheads.
you should do something today.
11-22-99 (00:38)
been thinking...as far as girls go i think that at first some of them (the
few i meet) might think at first that my blunt humor is relieving and funny,
but as time wears on it grows old, obnoxious, annoying, and unattractive.
not like i'm going to change, but in the meantime that certainly doesn't
help me with the few girls i do meet. oh and i'm too picky as well.
dust brothers make good music.
11-21-99 (21:04)
rage fucking rocked. they had dialated people and gang starr open up for
them...both of which are hip-hop bands so most of the people there didn't
like them. i thought they were pretty good. they said fuck republicans
which was nice to hear and they gave props to tupac which was awesome.
as soon as the lights went out for rage everyone went nuts...and when i
saw Zach's dreds i started going crazy too. they played the following songs
(the first five are in order and so are the last two, the middle ones are
in a rough order):
(1) Testify, (2) Guerilla Radio, (3) People of the Sun, (4) Calm Like A
Bomb, (5) Bullet in the Head, (6) Sleep Now in the Fire, (7) Bombtrack,
(8) Darkness, (9) Born of a Broken Man, (10) No Shelter, (11) Know Your
Enemy, (12) Bulls on Parade, (13) Freedom, (14) Killing in the Name.
only a certain number of people were allowed on the floor so you needed
a wrist band to go down there. we got in, but some didn't...after the first
act though a bunch of people made a mad dash for it, which was cool, the
uncool part was when then ran over the security guards to get down the
stairs.
at another point a bud light sign fell...it was a bit chaotic. but very
cool overall.
once rage came on and testify got into it's bumping part everyone was jumping
and it got extremely hot extremely fast...everyone was really close and
crowded, but i didn't care at all. people were bumping from all directions.
it was really fun even though i wouldn't normally think that it would be.
but
music changes all of the that.
sleep no in the fire is officially my second favorite song on the new album.
i got in the mosh pit on the last song...as soon as it hit the last part
when everyone is yelling 'fuck you i won't do you tell me' they turned
on the lights and i went in the mosh pit and got thrown around...it's very
fun having absolutely no care for what happens.
they played every song i wanted them to play except wake up, but i knew
they wouldn't because they need another guitarist for it.
Tom Morello got more into it than i remember from the video and that rocked.
Zach stopped the concert a few songs in and said something to the effect
of: "this is the second night in a row that we've had to stop and say this.
but it seems that there are a few men who are pussies in the crowd. there
is a girl up here trying to dance and some of these guys try and take advantage
of her. so if you real men see a brother trying to do some shit show him
where the fucking door is" - Zach rocks in every way possible. i wish that
there were more people like him.
my back hurt for the first two acts because there was so much standing,
but once rage came on it didn't matter anymore.
i also got more play than i've gotten in two and a half years - a saw lots
of knockers...many chicks were quite liberal with their tops...in fact
they were liberal enough to get on their friends' shoulders and then take
the tops off...in two and half years i have not seen tits in person...it
was fun all around.
metallica has moved ahead of nirvana, but this was a long time in the making.
tuesday is an excellent day for cd releases...assuming ICE is right in
their updates: Metallica (S&M), Anthrax (Best Of), Beastie Boys (Sounds
of Science), Guns n Roses (Live Era 87-93), Led Zeppelin (Blast off: vol.
one). they should all rock...both the b-boys and the gnr albums are 2 cd
sets. r
olling stone said the beastie boys one wasn't that great, but they smoke
lots of crack so you can't trust them. i've seen the track listing and
it's good...but more for true fans than people trying to get to know the
beastie boys...this much is true. but rolling stone should know that it's
impossible to make a best of the beastie boys...they (like led zeppelin)
are an album group...they make albums rather than singles...sure both zep
and the b-boys have great singles, but you'd be lost without the feeling
of the whole album...esp. paul's boutique and check your head...trying
to sum up their career in two cds is fucking retarded. i do hope that they
come out with a box set though...in 5 years or so.
may i reiterate...music is the best thing ever.
i got a free tape from blockbuster when phil bought paul's boutique and
check your head (both at $9 each!) and it's pretty damn good...called methods
of mayhem...hop metal i guess, but good. phil's purchase would have to
amount to the best 18 dollars spent - ever!
this update is huge, but so was the concert...only 14 songs, i don't know
what i really expected though...the last two were encores and they got
people going so much it was amazing. music is powerful.
lots of people were smoking pot...i can still smell it...luckily i didn't
get a contact high and luckily i didn't have to beat anyone up.
i've been offered new years parties with johnny and vern at san fran, phil
and jon at tahoe, and efren in la....hmmmm
49ers suck this year and it hurts, but i love them and i'm on their side...owens
i love you too.
i love 2PAC too...when DJ Premiere from Gang Starr gave props to 2 PAC
i just about jizzed in my pants...it was awesome. phil thinks so too.
oh phil's gone.
hattie was sick at the concert which sucks...i didn't get to talk with
her. didn't talk too much to stacy either...that was weird.
room is messy again, who cares.
after concert we borrowed some street signs...mine says "bush st." uh bush,
huh huh huh. hobo alley was too hard to borrow.
i haven't eaten dinner, but there was the potluck shit next door.
i got two shirts - one was a tour shirt the other was something about tears
turning into stones and then slung at oppressors. scott got the latter
as well. only 15 each...no gauging there...pretty decent price actually.
beastie boys rock more than you.
11-20-99 (14:18)
phil is here.
rage is tonight.
radio sucks
bye
11-19-99 (01:45)
there is quite the enthralling discussion on the message board.
la la la la la la la
finished paper in only 2.562 hours damn that's ... uh nevermind.
i should sleep considering the high probability of making a fool of myself
at this hour coupled with the fact that i must arise at a young hour.
entertaining one's self is important, but not as important as a good foot
massage and a pair of oreo cookies with milk and a bowl of strawberries
and a beat box booming and uh, um, yea.
luke you must stop...this is your daddy. call me daddy.
fubarb. fucked up beyond all recognition.
11-18-99 (20:08)
paper needs to get done now.
220 lbs of anthrax sprayed over the DC area would kill 3 million people.
it takes 18 months for a nuclear rod used in a nuclear power plant to cool.
holy hot shit batman.
westbam moves ahead of orbital. is still behind prodigy and fatboy slim.
rage is coming up quick i'm fucking psyched beyond belief. i hope i don't
kill anyone and i hope no one kills me.
jesus broke up with his girlfriend...that's actually sad. damn.
monkey off the back i guess.
one drawback with that whole message board thing is you have to register,
but it only took a minute and i just used all fake information.
catalog crap gets worse every day. dammit abebook dot com get your shit
together.
need to start S-A.
i'm audi S8.
11-17-99 (18:22)
had been toying with idea of message board on dis page since around february.
well at the suggestion of another i've finally linked to the message board
i signed up for 9 months ago. here
it be. i figure it'll be a place where everyone can diss me publicly
rather than just emailing me. it's uncensored, but remember that grandmas
visit this site so don't make a fool of yourself or of me.
that's all for this update other than to say i'm over being a freak...it
was a short lived stint in freakville...i'm back.
11-17-99 (16:17)
this has been the longest half month of my life.
i've discovered in the past few days that i'm exceedingly able to entertain
myself...watching TV has provided hours of internal commentary and mockery
of the world. it's great to be able to laugh at yourself. however it makes
me less likely to hunt for chicks.
i'm laughing right now at how retarded i am...it's wonderful.
what a freak of nature you are.
11-16-99 (21:50)
eating takes a long time i guess.
dogma starts now...wish i was there.
johnny is the bomb...he really reads my webpage...all of it.
interesting page here...all
about being the bomb actually...
luke is interviewing me...it's
fun.
must start working.
11-16-99 (20:13)
raining big time today = shitty.
dr. dre album is good...he's matured, but his beat and raps are still good.
snoop...well snoop is awesome as usual. cd
list updated.
my chair currently houses my clothes, not my ass. i need two chairs i guess.
printed out mp3 list on campus...finally. same for cd list, but it's already
out of date.
need to make major effort to start essay tonight.
eminem doesn't suck. dre is a sensitive guy. so is eminem. eazy e is dead,
but there's no hard feelings....this is good.
dinner is cooking.
rage against the machine is this weekend..hell yea. i need to find someone
to cover for me...this is a problem. i shall call work now and see what
i can do.
gotta go.
11-15-99 (23:18)
started updating the blvd. books catalog...what a tedious process.
i added a new quote...my first attempt at being quotable...see if you can
find it.
updated this last time using notepad...now i know what it's like for johnny
11-15-99 (21:04)
pretty much wasted today.
mom looks to be coming up for thanksgiving...just the day. seems a waste
to me, but her choice not mine.
i need more blank CDs already. damn i went through the last 50 really quickly.
i did read today. maybe i'll write a response to one of the stories and
get that out of the way. or not.
did laundry so can't delay by doing that.
oh i'll vacuum!
tomorrow i should finish up my 5-7 page essay. yes i should.
hope i'm not being too self-indulgent by upkeeping this webpage (just kidding
vern).
11-14-99 (20:20)
i have lots of stuff to do for the blvd. books page. the people that post
the catalogs online are really picky about how the catalog is supposed
to look so that's a pain in the ass.
stacy finally comes back today.
got a hit from Australia ...cool i guess.
i actually took a nap during the overnight...that's a first. i was so tired.
wonder what's going to happen with me a month from now.
stevie wonders too.
phil is going to the rage concert...should be dope.
updated recent movies list.
...and your dancing to my beat.
11-13-99 (17:44)
i need to learn to not have a chip on my shoulder...that's all i'm saying.
computer show was really small, but got me back in touch with the inner
dork.
westbam rocks and so does prodigy.
overnight is tonight. maybe i'll take a nap before i get there.
11-13-99 (12:25)
12 hrs later...
i've decided that on the whole i don't get along with people. maybe it's
because i'm picky, or 'negative', or 'grumpy' as one person put it, but
for some reason hearing doors slamming a foot from my head in the morning
isn't to my liking...of course if i said anything about it i'd be a grumpy
dickhead who's just cracking down on people for no real reason. hearing
about people getting drunk first thing in the morning is, to me at least,
not to my liking and for this reason i'm a bit odd...i udnerstand this,
but i don't really accept it. of course nothing can be done about it. i
wonder if 30 years from now people will look at my views and think them
perfectly normal and look at those who talk about getting drunk while laughing
and mock them. probably not. until then - woe is i and i'll just be the
grumpy one.
here's another pet peeve. when you've met someone before and talked with
them for a bit and then they have no idea who you are later. that's a real
jorgay type of thing to do, but here i am being negative again.
i kinda wish no one read my webpage so i could write whatever i wanted
without fear of offending someone.
i should eat.
i also kinda wish i could put on the happy face that Annette Bening is
able to put on in American Beauty...that would be a great assest in this
world where emotions are supposed to be concealed.
i'm happy again. =)
11-13-99 (00:25)
well my streak is officially over...by 26 minutes, but over nonetheless.
i've finally missed a day of updating.
did not, however, break the other streak...got another CD today. the so
what'cha want single by the beastie boys. i had all the songs already on
mp3, but i still had to buy the single...it's a really good single. 7 songs,
but it also cost 17 bucks...i am a strange character indeed.
work tonight was pretty decent...only four kids and one was gone for the
weekend.
i'm unusually tired. rather the being tired at this time is weird, not
the type of tiredness.
did you know that grammatically the saying 'woe is me' should be 'woe is
i'? there is a book of grammar called 'woe is i' so that's the only reason
i know that. oh on the grammar tip - remember that it's not who you know
it's whom you know.
actually there is one track on the single that i don't have on mp3...yippee.
updated cd list.
i got an assignment in english today - 9 page paper, due dec 2nd. this
means a couple things. 1) i'm fucked. 2) i have a 9 pager in english, a
9 pager in history, a 10 pager in pol 163, and a 10 pager in pol 131. all
due between dec. 2 and 7. i have a 5-7 pager due by friday too.
i love school about as much as gore metal and pop hop and puff daddy all
playing twister, naked, drenched in mayo and parmesan cheese.
damn that was good it started out as: i love school about as much as gore
metal. then it went from there. sure it doesn't make sense, but it's quite
the insight into my little world or something.
i wonder if it's possible to love anything as much as music. i guess it
is, but jeez that's a true test. lemme think about this actually. if i
could never ever hear music again in my life, including in movies, i think
i might be an extremely sad person. while on the bus i was going through
songs in my head the whole time...i went from metallica to handsome boy
modeling school to wyclef to causey way to prodigy to babe ruth to the
doors to deejay punk-roc...without something to stimulate that on a daily
basis i might go crazy. at any rate.
i'm too anal when it comes to things i own. borderline selfish even. that's
not good. i've examined and pinpointed the problem, now i will flip the
switch. problem solved. yay. it's a good thing i have complete control
of my emotions. speaking of which...
i was biking home from work today and passed a line of cars when this guy
yells at me as i passed. i took this as a cry for help, but i did not respond.
i prepared to stop ahead at the red light (this is unusual so i have to
explain). it was at the entrance to downtown from south davis and there
was a lot of traffic...too much for me to dodge even. when the light turned
(before i was at the light or had fully stopped) his driver friend peeled
out and zoomed up to me and as i turned with them and onto the sidewalk
the idiot yelled at me again. for some reason this annoyed me more than
usual. i yelled back and begged him to try something. he didn't and they
drove ahead. just before i reached the tunnel a sprinkler sprayed me with
water. i was happy.
i deposited my paycheck...i moved the decimal point in the wrong direction...e.g.,
from 100.00 to 10.00...gay. will call tomorrow...today, whatever.
i update often and much. this one took an hour...if you count the time
it took to put the new sponsor animation together.
stacy comes back finally on sunday. yippee.
wanna get my smurf on. track 8 on the westbam CD.
radio show was good but vern was a bit late. i don't hold it against him
though, even if he thinks i do.
i'm a dork - i'm probably going to the computer show with jon tomorrow.
it's weird how phil, jon, and i can be overall pretty normal people - listen
to normal music, live basically normal lives, but be such dorks when we
get together. for example: i've got 512k cache onboard, they've got 512k
cache on their cpus - i'm jealous. they've got agp and scsi motherboards
- i have ide, not even udma and i'm jealous...the point isn't that i'm
jealous, rather it's that most people don't know what this means most don't
care and most hear this and think "what dorks." we are dorks and we know
it.
i'm tired still. not sure why i'm awake.
11-11-99 (19:40)
so phil has, on a weekly basis, been formatting his hard drive...for about
the last year he's been doing this. i feel for him. he's got it down to
a system and thanks to the cds i gave him he's able to have most of the
programs he needs without having to download them...although with a dsl
connection downloading isn't much to worry about.
finished my history paper. the nine pager is due in december, don't let
me forget that i also have two other 10 pagers due that week. mountain
dew is good.
i *69ed the last call...couldn't go through which means it was out of davis.
wasn't phil so it may have been a telemarketer...i hate those fucks. i
have no more patience. for a while i did...now i vow to screw every single
one of them.
i bought two more cds...i'm horrible.
22 cds to go...what a breeze. i'll just eat pasta for a while.
my english class is actually a good class. i have an essay due tomorrow,
but i might take my late option...i have a reputation to uphold...i think
it sucks getting "A"s cuz then you have to get them all the time. this
is not a problem in my other classes, thankfully. i finally know what it's
like to be johnny, or someone else with consistently good grades. my curse
is only in english and is probably fleeting so i'm not too worried about
finally breaking that b+ barrier. i'll miss the final if i have to!
if i get any emails asking me if i'm serious or worrying about my grades
then i will be forced to never again update my page rather than to say
'today was a good day...everything is well and done. by the by i am doing
exceedingly well in my studies and am quite proud of my academic marks
this quarter.'
i must retire to my studies now and not waste another second with this
mindless dribble.
11-11-99 (09:00)
overnight was good...HATTIE is the bomb. hope that satisfies that need.
finding mp3s is becoming harder. of course i don't use aol or hotline either
so that hinders progress.
had a message on my machine when i got home - it was a hang up. fuckers.
i will *69 it later, but they won't know what i'm talking about.
got two telemarketers calling me last night...was nice to the first...10
mins later i told the second to fuck off and said he was a prick, or something
to that effect.
found out who the aol hit was from. hattie. there's another hit. hattie.
that's three.
westbam is rocking deez nuts....right now!
laffy taffy changed their wrappers...for at least the last 10 years they
have been the same then one day i check and they're different...what the
fuck? it used to be that i was able to get up to 3 jokes per wrapper now
it's always 2. this is gay. they taste good still, but don't seem as soft.
i'll live.
when i get paid i might finally get the turntable i've been saving up for.
think i'll sleep now. sometimes the only thing that makes me want to wake
up is the prospect of listening to a new cd.
i'm a beatbox rocker and you're dancing to my beat...i'm a beatbox rocker
and i never sound the same. and you're dancing to my dancing to my dancing
to my dancing to my beat
11-10-99 (14:23)
took a shower today...that's not the newsworthy part, trust me. after i
got out i noticed a message on the answering machine...i checked and it
was a hang up. I called them back using the now infamous *69, and the guy
on the other line denied having called me. this is the second time in a
week this has happened. damn damn damn. please leave messages people!
i've been getting really weird hits lately...people using AOL, people using
NT without a domain name. people, other than vern, using macs. i've never
seen these hits. i'd say i'm getting a few new visitors lately. hmmmm.
got another cd in mail. drummers of burundi. 30 mins of drums, and some
yelling. at least it ends well.
310 is the count.
tomorrow will be 10 year anniversary of ....do you know?
got a good grade on my english midterm. at least i'm doing well in one
class.
bush is like the foo fighters...talent without the consistency...waiting
for a best of for both. it's sad because most alternative rock groups are
like that.
it rained...shit. i still resolve to NEVER take the bus to school.
whenever someone from the apc crew rips an mp3 it sounds too high pitched.
it's all good because it's not that bad and they are responsible for most
of the mp3s out there. wtg guys.
i'm extremely happy to have a working computer...uh oh i feel another one
of those massive lists coming (ala the i
want list)...i'm extremely happy to have: a working computer, a receiver
that works, speakers that help me feel the music, a printer, a good sized
cd collection, a radio show, a camera above my monitor, an almanac, a good
dictionary, a good bike, a friend like phil, a 13 inch cock (although sometimes
it's a liability), a savings account (even though it only has 25 bucks
in it), a mom and dad, a dad and mom, people who care enough to visit my
webpage, a job that isn't useless, time, an education, eyes, two legs,
etc., shelter, a sense of humor, some self-control, the ability to drive
a stick, holidays, friends that care, co-workers that don't suck, administration
that doesn't go to work while i'm there, lots of cds, lots of cds, a house
that has visitors, a house that doesn't suck, friends who have friends,
female friends, people who email me just because, a MD recorder, an exacto
knife, a back scratcher (although it would be better if it were a girlfriend),
time, posters that say something about me, a globe, yearbooks, pictures
of my glory days, a cool sister, memories, adam sandler cds, found the
beastie boys, GetRight, a safeway nearby and friends who care.
11-9-99 (19:01...cont.)
turning computer off for a day.
the planet rock (afrika bambaataa) CD is pretty good and takes an element
from the song 'the mexican' by babe ruth, feat. on the dirtchamber sessions
by prodigy...pretty cool. deejay punk-roc is a good cd...i realize this
more every time i listen to it. the perrey and kingsley cd is interesting,
but good.
i was watching tv today...a rare event...and i saw judge joe brown go off
on this one 18 yr old guy. he kept saying stuff like "i know you perping
the g style...fronting like you a man. you ain't got no manhood in you!
running around wit yo homies smoking the rock and coming off like you be
g's! you need to get your stuff together. stop banging and strolling like
a gangsta. stop kickin it wit those fools who try and pull a cap job" it
was pretty funny, but really truthful. then they showed a judge judy clip...she
was lecturing someone else...she didn't have quite the tact as judge joe
brown though.
learned well in class. wish i wasn't tested on it though.
instant rice is for wussies and college students...i'm neither, ergo i
don't own any instant rice.
11-9-99 (13:18...cont.)
added a little aesthetic improvement. when you hover your mouse over a
link it'll turn bold. neato.
got three cds...kinda expensive because i'm trying to fulfill a membership
requirement, but still came out cheaper than tower. updated cd
list. westbam cd is pretty damn good, esp. track 9 - it rocks da house.
afrika bambaataa should be good...he's old skool. perrey-kingsley should
be interesting...beastie boys got their instrumental CD title from the
title of this CD so that's why i bought it.
major development: i cancelled columbia house (one of my three memberships
thereof, i also have bmg) and they sent me an offer i couldn't refuse...stay
with us and we'll give you 15 free cds...all you have to do is buy 4 over
the next 2 years. so i'll probably be getting 15 cds in a month or so for
about 15 bucks worth of shipping and handling and taxes. that will help
conquer the 335 goal. i'm set now.
that's it.
11-9-99 (03:41)
stacy's gone till sunday, that sucks.
work meeting today at 12p. rsvp (pick classes) at 9:30a.
wasting time. should have gone to sleep about 4 hours ago.
reaching 2500 hits. yippee.
made list of cd releases for my reference, copied some cds, re-arranged
the portable cd case, basically occupied time with retarded activities.
i'm excellent at that. maybe the best.
mp3s haven't been coming in...the man is cracking down on all my fun.
second hard drive is getting full of free music anyway. we need mp4 conversion
programs or something.
class from 3-6p today that should be boring. except the hot chick in my
foreign affairs class. ha. chicks are a foreign affair indeed. ha ha.
this webpage tells much of my insanity...i was looking at the picturesand
the archives and i realized i'm
a, how to put this...a weird person. eccentric, odd, off-beat, interesting,
fill-in-the-blank. this time i'll blame it on my dad's genes rather than
my mom's habit of dropping me as a baby. disclaimer: she didn't really
drop me so i am hereby shed of all liability in the cases of slander, defamation,
calumny, and libel. thank you.
i hereby proclaim...
i just wanted to say something grandiose, but, alas, i drew a blank.
bob marley is good.
who bbc sessions 1cd, comes out today...i haven't the funds to acquire
it.
i'm talking like have a montblanc pen in my ass...goodnight.
11-8-99 (cont.)
i finally found marie (the cd lady) on ebay. different email address...maybe
now i'll be able to get the weekly lists sent to me again. whew. that's
a big help on the 335 goal.
within the next three tuesday's the who bbc sessions, dr. dre 2001, run
dmc crown royal, metallica symphony shit, beastie boys sounds of science
(2cds), guns and roses live (2cds) , queen greatest hits 3, doors complete
studio recordings (7cds), anthrax best of, and led zeppelin Blast Off:
Volume One. holy shit is all i have to say.
got tool cd in the mail...that was pretty quick. it's good. now i know
why my dad wanted it.
11-8-99 (cont.)
think i'll get a haircut now.
pink floyd cd is pretty good so far.
johnny's page promises to be even better now after vern has joined the
crew as well. hopefully it will get updated more - that would be really
cool. hopefully it will inspire vern to write more stories too.
made the sidebar in roughly in order of when i last updated that respective
page.
lately i've been seeing more friends on campus...this is a good thing and
brightens my day at least 3.76 fold. not sure if it's possible to get 3.76
folds of anything, but it sounded good at the time.
work called me in at 930, then mom called at 940, then i ate breakfast
burrito at 1020, then class at 11, then back here at 210.
list of best
musicians, cds, songs, composers etc. of the last 1000 years...a sad compilation
overall if you ask me. black sabbath and led zeppelin are missing completely.
so is anything relating to techno or hip hop. (with the exception of best
song number ten as Unfinished Sympathy - Massive Attack). no pe, beastie
boys, run dmc, grandmaster flash, sugar hill gang, prodigy, kraftwerk,
etc.
bye
11-8-99
ill communication is an awesome cd...a cd everyone should at least give
a try.
been up for 28 hours.
monday will be crack down day school-wise.
that's funny
11-7-99 (cont.)
updated cd list.
here's what an 8 year old boy wrote to one of our female staff (i've preserved
the spelling for effect):
from: tim
to: the bich
dear: nichole your a real bich. your a gutter-slut bich and a hor for
a uggily staff bich. your a real kunt so fuck you bich.
i thought that was a bit sad.
i got the cd case, yips.
11-7-99
overnight was the same.
breakfast burrito bash was the same.
2PAC rocks.
appreciation is selcom given enough. this is why i like johnny's praise
page.
i appreciate my mom, johnny, and others who visit my page regularly because
they care.
i'm not going to goto sleep today even though i have the overnight.
i'm going to dimple records. i hope they have rare stuff. either way i'll
probably get another portable cd case. =)
peace to all my homies in lock down.
11-6-99 (barely)
i'm updating a lot more lately...not because i am more idle, rather because
i've decided to do something while idle rather than sitting. studying would
be too rational, ergo i only engage in such heinous activities when all
other options are exhausted.
updated cd list. there was a miscount...i
have more cds than i thought. i have 302 now. in light of this new evidence
i've increased my goal to 335 CDs by 12-31-99 11pm.
i got pauls' boutique and check your head today on vinyl...for those of
you who know my room well you will know that paul's boutique is already
on my wall and check your head is with the rest of the vinyl, but unsealed.
for this reason i was forced to get an extra copy of each. so now i have
two copies of paul's boutique on vinyl. two copies of check your head on
vinyl and CD. i'm a nut, but more like a cashew so at least i taste good.
i can type fuck and .com rather quickly...the latter ails me a bit.
my hotmail email address has become the internet whore of the month...good
thing it's hotmail.
i've heard of mail bombers that put you on a shit load of newsletters and
email whore lists...i think that's the way to go if you are going to really
fuck someone over. i'd never do such a thing of course.
radio show rocked - second week in a row...we don't give a shit about the
people in the studio or making fun of things...this is harder to do during
prime time. back in the day when we were the only ones at the studio from
2 am to 4 am it was easy. we made fun of the NRA last week and this week
of the american dream and TV and violence being allowed on tv, but not
sex...after all violence is the reason america is so great and the world
is what it is. sex never got anyone anywhere. i made the argument that
violence is natural and sex is not...stutter and i then concluded (very
sarcastically) that this is the reason sex isn't allowed on tv, but violence
is. we also think that the europeans are all backward because they have
nudity on tv.
lights out, guerilla radio!
scott is the only one to attempt (and succeeded) in the riddle on the "11-5-99
(barely)" update. go scott. i didn't think anyone would get it.
all hell can't stop us now! all hell can't stop us now! all hell can't
stop us now! all hell can'st stop us now! asfdlkj;lkjfdlkj;fdsa
i didn't know till today, but amoeba music has a website here.
it's a fairly popular music store in berkeley and SF. the website just
gives info, no searches, but it's cool i guess.
i got a jury summons a bit back...i will not reply and see what happens...i'll
plead ignorance, saying that i'm up here so i didn't think i needed to
reply if i wasn't eligible. that is if they decide to follow up...dubious.
i'm calm like a bomb.
coffee ice cream is gone...woe is me.
updates are long and often...like my sex sessions...ha ha! that was ad
lib too. i'm unstoppable. i'm also gone. late.
11-5-99
i'm a star. i'm a big bright shining star, i am a star i am a star i am
a star.
if you know what that's from you are cool, if not you need to get out more.
led zeppelin IV is playing now. four sticks.
kdvs in an hour and 15 mins...yip. e.
the last midterm was today - best of the three.
got a b+ on my last english essay. yippee.
work from 5-10...i hate fridays. especially when they're not ones i get
paid on.
going to california. someone told me there's a girl out there...with love
in her eyes and flowers in her h-air...rober plant rocks.
busy busy busy.
when the levee breaks.
11-5-99 (barely)
i have led zeppelin I-IV in my cd changer now...as close to heaven as possible
without pulp fiction playing on my computer, a turkey
and avocado sandwich in my hand, and a girl on my lap...oh jeez...oh jizz.
i remember one time being in the car getting off the 405 freeway and on
to sepulveda blvd. and being mad at my sister. i called her a jizz wad,
not knowing what jizz was. my mom admonished me and said "chris! do you
know what that means?!" i said no and she said softly "semen" or some other
word, and at that point i knew what it meant.
coffee ice cream rocks. it reminds me of the good ole days. did i say that
earlier?
updated recent movies list...saw
american beauty with stacy...and fargo...and i think planes, trains, and
automobiles is a recent add too...
oh yea...midterm was horrible...did i say that earlier?
i don't know what i've told to whom...i don't know what day it is or what
time it is...it's kinda interesting actually...sometimes i think that the
best way is to get a regular schedule and go to sleep at midnight wake
up at 9 and goto class and work, etc.....routine. but that's a little too
much 'heel
to toe' for me. that's from vern's little social commentary story on
johnny's page. basically i don't want to be a nine to fiver. so i'll go
to sleep at 1am and wake up at 6am and then goto sleep again after class
if that suits me.
hidden word in the first line of this update...if you think you can find
it
mail me
no i'm not going to tell you the answer you have to figure it out or you
won't get it. you'd have to be pretty bold to ask for hints too!
head fucks are great...american beauty and fight club being two of them.
i'm slightly sleepy now.
i think it's gay that ebay shuts down their servers for 4 hours from 12-4...that's
when i'm most likely to bid...jeesh.
updated cd list.
11-4-99
for $3 and a bit of time i can make two cds and use them as a birthday
present. a good investment (the cd writer, that is).
mp3s rock and help in making cds...i've spent weeks downloading songs and
with a cd writer it pays off. yay.
midterm sucked big time. this quarter is bad.
freshman year i was adjusting, sophomore year i was in the "sophomore slump"
and next year comes senioritis, but i have no excuse...maybe i'll make
one...jack off juniors...junior jam...i don't know.
gimme! gimme! gimme!...a man after midnight...uhm i mean woman. actually
that's an abba song in case you done didn't be knowing that already.
spiders are out in full force, fucking up the ride to and from school.
da webs be invading da air. word!
rage against the machine cd is officially good. not album of the year though...yet.
rick rubin is winning the battle of the producers this year. that's your
only hint to my pick so far for album of the year. if you can count best
of albums then the sounds of science cd has already won without even being
released yet. i have the track listing because i have hook ups or some
shit...it rocks.
big gun!
number one.
if anyone knows half of what i'm talking about then we should probably
get it on or something. obscure ass references. big gun!
ring deez nuts.
what you want...baby i got it...for a little respect...just a little bit.
ooooh your kisses...sweeter than wine. sing it aretha!
i'll stop before the damage is too much
11-3-99
it be 8:55am...class in two hours, afterwards i'll nap.
midterm tomorrow and friday.
frozen republic by lazare is a good book about why the constitution should
be thrown away...and why we should start over. interesting.
updated the editorial page.
5 updates...three days...you guys must be thrilled!
here's my TA writing the class:
I am very sorry, but I will be unable to hold office hours on Wednesday
for Group Politics due to illness.
I suggest you study for the exam by reviewing the notes carefully, being
sure that you note the themes of the various lectures. Be familiar with
the major examples Professor Wade has offered in class and the concepts
these examples illustrate. For the Hollow Core, be sure to have read
the book.... then review the material by once again, looking for the big
picture questions - what was the purpose of the book? what were the
findings? how were these results different from what might have been
expected through popular wisdom or other theories of group politics?
I will check my email frequently so send your specific questions that
way if you have them.
here's what i might write in return: "sorry to hear you are ill, i, too,
have come down with a cold. i have a few quick questions: what was the
purpose of the book? what were the findings? how were these
results different from what might have been expected through popular wisdom
or other theories of group politics? thank you. -chris miller.
i wonder what would happen...if i was a grad. student i would tell them
to fuck off and eat an apple.
i've got mental problems, but that's okay i'm taking prozac, depakote,
paxil, and zoloft. i don't think i know what i'm talking about.
king of pain is my favorite police song...just discovered this today.
enya is good...tis true
after reading the updates i just made i can safely say that i was dropped
as a baby. of this i was not sure until now. i've decided to sue my mom
and babysitter. consider yourselves warrrrrned!
that 'warrrrned' part is from the first track on public enemy's 'it takes
a nation of millions to hold us back'.
stay away is a good nirvana song.
added tomato to my world famous breakfast burrito. it added a good texture
and temperature difference, but the taste neither helped nor detracted,
thus i may continue to add tomato. the more garlic powder the better.
got taxi driver in the mail yesterday...yippee. will watch sometime within
the next year.
exile is a good enya song.
this is a long update.
in two point five months this page and i will have been going out for 2
years. will have been: future perfect, active, indicative tense/voice/case...latin
learned me something. if it's not the future perfect, active, indicative
then you'll understand why i took it on a pass/no pass basis.
www.kosmic.org - free mp3s, legit,
good, ambient, drum and bass, techno, dance, break beats, good, etc. it's
my home page.
2 legit 2 quit! MC Hammer time.
now i'm tired. this sucks. it only took 3.5 hours of meaningless rambling
and sitting.
11-3-99
two months it'll be 2000 - weird.
updated favorites...paul's
boutique advances and ill communication moves down.
it's 6:49am and i'm awake...but only because i went to sleep at 1am...woke
up to go to the bathroom and now i can't fall asleep again.
had midterm yesterday...thought it was on thursday so that didn't help
much...biggest fuck up of college career i'd have to say.
oh boogie nights moved ahead of die hard, but this is only until i watch
die hard again...then i'll make the final decision...so don't get your
panties in a bunch...where did i get that from? a movie or something...yea
blame it on the movies.
www.gaymart.com
interesting?!
11-2-99
smegma is the worst word ever. look it up.
now i know how led zeppelin fans must have felt when in through the out
door was released...or even more so physical graffiti.
officially sick.
it sucks.
11-2-99 (barely)
updated mp3 list.
updated wish list.
carl lewis is #12.
ali, frazier, ruth, mays, brown, pele, wagner?, schmidt?, the bear, jim
thorpe?, jordan, gretzky, jesse owens, it's late and i cunt come up with
any more. that's a quick list of other possibilities as i see it. i'm sure
there's someone i'm missing.
i can't see schmidt and wagner being in there but it's possible i guess...jim
thorpe was a pure athelete, but not dominate at anything for very long...not
like the others anyway.....don't know if johnny bench was chosen or not.
morceli, komen, and gebrselassie are great and in ten years could be in
the top 100, but they're from track so that doesn't help.
why am i awake still?
i like yahoo more than ask jeeves.
11-1-99
last month's updates here.
three midterms this week. two on thursday. yay.
spent way too much money on food last month. books were the most they've
ever been. music was above average at 262.
my goal of 330 cds is an ambitious one, but attainable...
rage against the machine comes out with their new cd tomorrow....hell yea.
i've been waiting over a year for this.
happy birthday to adam horowitz - adrock of the beastie boys... he's now
32! which means he was 18 when he first became a 'star'....imagine touring
with run dmc and madonna at 18 or 19.
i'm 20.
that's all.
10-29-99
many many hits this month.
parties this weekend will lack my presence.
college life is funny...parties, girls, class, mountain dew, all nighters,
late night sandwiches, etc. fun though, fun indeed.
it's 6:04a.
got two hits from ucdavis yesterday, one from scott, one from someone using
netscape 3.x ...someone who doesn't update browser obviously. odd. it wasn't
on campus, it wasn't anybody in this house, or next door for that matter.
tired.
need to sleep, long day tomorrow.
i've got this beastie boy mp3 to download and everytime i start downloading
it goes to about 1.4 k/sec and then slows down to a stop within a couple
seconds. weird. need to start, stop, start, stop...etc.
rick rubin executive produced the public enemy-it takes a nation of millions
to hold us back cd - he rocks.
the last track on that cd uses a beastie boys sample, a bob marley sample
and the sample sample schooly d uses for 'get off your ass and get involved'
on the 'am i black enough for you' cd...terminator x rocks deez. he's the
public enemy dj, for those who don't know.
source material comp. is good. in fact most everything by astralwerks is
good.
night time for me.
6:30am, 7:30am, 6:30am...those are my sleep times the last three days,
not including the overnight, when i didn't sleep until 9am and then slept
for 11 hours. fuct.
10-28-99
overnight killed me.
essay due tomorrow, working on it now.
pics page works now.
this weekend i might update the editorial page...been slacking there.
got some funny pictures from stacy - put them up on my piece of cardboard
with all my other pictures...it's now on the wall.
going to start another one, someday after i develop more film.
vern liked the "i want" thing...thanks vern.
johnny liked the stuff i wanted (that which wasn't material)...thanks johnny.
i'm a lucky person. (note to self - i'm a lucky person because: .......)
10-27-99
updated political action page...it includes the following letter to some
politician types-
To whom it may concern:
Here are my views, as a constituent of yours you
should care:
• Voters don't care, and they should - do something about this.
• Education, on the whole, is horrible and the curriculum is a joke
- fix it.
• The rich are getting richer, the poor - poorer. Yet everyone thinks
the country is doing great - inform voters of truth and fix the growing
gap.
• There is too much money in politics - get rid of the excess.
• We don't have a cohesive foreign policy - make one.
The above are my complaints if you want my vote then you'll do something
to make it appear that you care. In all likelihood you will be more busy
planning your next $1000 per plate fundraiser dinner.
good day,
Chris Miller
i'm not depressed, but the last update makes it look that way. for the
record - i be fine.
10-27(barely)-99
updated pics. a LOT. many with phil.
updated cd list. stp and rob zombie
cds are both good.
updated mp3 wants.
updated schedule...slacking there.
could get the rage cd in a few days (a few days before it's coming out)
if i wanted, but i think that's cheap. i want the real thing...i'll be
in line early in the morning, you can bet on it.
pay check this week. yippee.
i want to spend a lot of money.
i want: a car, a turntable, a cassette deck, a super fast MD recorder,
a girlfriend, a fat savings account, a job with administration that doesn't
suck, to be free from inhibitions, a regular sleeping schedule, the will
to study, the ability to read for hours, the ability to forgive and forget,
to be a fun person...including while at parties, accepting of other people
and their shortcomings, buff, a lot of time, the ability to manage time
(not piss it away), in shape, able to run a 4:58 mile again, a girlfriend,
all the nirvana cds, all the metallica cds, all the doors cds, all the
ac/dc cds, all the soundgarden cds, all the black sabbath cds, all the
ccr cds, a laser printer, a good globe, a picture of an atomic bomb exploding
with the caption reading "it's good to be american", headphones with a
frequency range of 20-20,000 Hz, a digital camera, new shoes, to be secure
with myself, a hobby, a radio show from 12-2am, a respectable vinyl collection
including hendrix classics and all the beatles albums, a world where people
care, a world where people know what they are caring about, a society concerned
with the long run and the small people, to do something that matters, to
be recognized, a system of government that isn't inept, a group of friends
that have the same wants i do, to live in a place where being liberal doesn't
mean you have to have a messy house, to live in a place where neighbors
speak, to be able to throw away grudges, to be able to spell without have
to check words like 'grudges', to be confident enough not to check words
when they are right the first time, to keep in touch with friends, to not
be disgusted by people abusing themselves (um, i mean drinking) even in
moderation, to be free enough to dance without having to mock myself, to
be funny without making some kind of sexual allusion, to finally learn
how to spell words like reference so i don't have to use allusion everytime,
to know now that there isn't a double 'f' or 'r' in reference...just like
i thought the first time, to have the same confidence with girls that i
do while riding my bike, to be as accurate in comparing english stories
as i am in keeping my checkbook balanced, to be able to bunny hop a bike,
to be able to look back and not regret, the balls to put my gonads on the
line once in a while, not ever be as closed minded with music as vern is,
to bump to loud music in the now deceased 92 passat with phil, for everyone
to hear the same 2PAC that i do - one with compassion/genius/personality/zest,
for everybody to hear 'rock n' roll' by led zeppelin and know that what
they did is such genius it's amazing, for everybody to hear 'car thief'
by the beastie boys and realize that the world can suck because of 'all
the wife beater and all the tax cheaters sitting in the white house pulling
their peters' - but also realize that it can be a wonderful place because
it has music like that, for people to care, for everyone to read at least
one paragraph of the unabomber manifesto and then make a comment on it
- but not until then, and the same for marilyn manson or 2 PAC or zach
de la rocha or chuck d or noam chomsky or jello biafra or how about bob
dylan or jim morrison, to be able to listen to eminem before looking at
his white ass trying to rap then writing him off as a poser only to find
out later that he's a person with feelings/thoughts/and all that gay shit
which is not let in by most because of his color and baggy jeans, to be
able to listen to 'love hurts' by nazareth without saying 'hell yea', to
have the same drive as jerry rice/joe montana/steve young/steve prefontaine,
to be as giving as phil, to be as smart as my dad/grandmother/mom/grandfather
in no particular order, as eloquent as noam chomsky/howard zinn, to be
a leader like MLK/malcolm x/che guevara, to have a world where MLK's dream
of ECONOMIC equality is reality, for people to know that the preface to
MLK's i
have a dream speech talks about economic equality...not just racial
equality because he knew it - and still is - a economic gap more than anything
else, not to finish this paragraph - goto sleep - wake up and not care
again - like everyone else.
10-26-99
sleeping is fucked lately.
need to do lots of work for school, yay.
phil is gone.
going to study...now
10-25-99
wasted day away.
still need to see american beauty.
rob zombie remix album comes out sometime in november...will buy.
goal for 2000 - to have 330 CDs. a tough goal economically.
tickets for the concert have been purchased.
that's all.
10-24-99
it is much fun having phil up here.
stacy is staying?...good lord the shit hits the fan.
essay due tomorrow
mostly wasted this weekend, but it was extremely fun.
made breakfast burritos for people again this weekend...yippee.
watched fight club. 'review' here
niners suck more than i thought, good thing i don't watch any of the games.
got only 2 hours sleep after the overnight.
working NOW.
10-19-99
beastie boys single wasn't out....weird. it's all good. i got 6 new cds
anyway. yippee. check out additions here
Pi is a good movie...i'll have to see it again sometime. the soundtrack
is awesome too.
tired.
lots of updating in the last two days.
10-19-99
hard to wake up this morning
two great games on last night - monday night football was exciting to the
end and so was the ALCS. I've decided, though, that i don't like the yankees...and
feel sorry for the red sox. the yankees have no personality...they are
a machine...too good, like the niners once were, but the yankees don't
have a montana or a rice...just a damn machine...i hope atlanta whips their
asses.
gotta go get a cd.
listening to everclear's latest...first time in a while...good cd, still.
bye.
10-18-99
phil is officially coming up thursday...but the ticket isn't purchased
so how official is it? hopefully it works out.
getting off work on friday is impossible, worst comes to worst i just quit,
um i mean call in sick that day.
i have almost all my books now, not like having them helps unless you read
them. =)
i hate reading when it's required and when you have to do so much so quickly.
it's gay and it's not what learning should be.
more class, less homework...smaller classes too. discussions are good;
even for me.
red hot chili peppers move up yet another notch...now behind queen and
deep purple and run dmc and soundgarden and ac/dc and stp and doors and
ccr and 2pac and guns n roses and metallica and nirvana and black sabbath
and rage against the machine and led zeppelin and the beastie boys. but
that's pretty far up there.
guns and roses live album coming out nov. 20th i do believe...live for
their old shit, none of this axl rose only guns n roses crap...so it should
be good.
must i reiterate? stp oct. 26th. beastie boys single oct. 19th (supposedly).
rage against the machine nov 2nd. and their concert the 20th. beastie boys
2cd sounds of science best of comp. nov 26th...holy shit these two month
rock. i'm jizzing all over the keyboard...i must clean now.
clean - good depeche mode song from the violator cd.
good lord my relatives and elders read this shit. that's the breaks.
homecoming game on friday so hopefully i can go to that with phil.
installed some shit. must restart i'll be back.
back i'm probably screwing myself by updating anything microsoft, but we'll
see.
nevermind they wanted me to register with them....fat chance.
brendan o'brien and rick rubin are great producers. brendan - all three
by stp...and possibly their fourth too. ratm's last two. vitology by pearl
jam. and more i'm sure. rick rubin - red hot chili peppers' last few (including
bloodsugarsexmagic and californication). run dmc's stuff. beastie boys'
licensed to ill. ac/dc's latest. at least one track by NIN. and more i'm
sure.
answered some questions on johnny's page.
the doors are good.
it's late. 4am. late. too late it is.
10-14-99
test tomorrow.
stacy and gio came over tonight it was great.
pics from the sexfest - here. there is
a movie too, but it's 11 megs large so if you really want it you can go
through icq or something some day.
mad props, big thanks, to Johnny for the quickcam ... it's been great and
i'll use it more. gotta get as much home porn in as possible before xmas.
thank you johnny thank you.
Rage Against the Machine is rocking my nuts these days. tempted, but not
seriously so to move ahead of led zeppelin. if new album is as good as
the first it could happen.
lots of updates this month = good business.
updated cd list, word 7.0 version
too.
need to read.
10-13-99
rage is in town nov. 20th i'll be there.
rage single if fucking awesome, but stacy is cooler.
anyhoo. or is it anywho? i think it's the latter.
at any rate the receiver is back and is working, now.
i really like my cd player...too bad my receiver has been dead for so long.
got haircut.
took lots of quickcam pics.
updated recent movies page.
i'm late for bed.
10-12-99
updated the papers page...it should
work now. if you have word 7.0 and IE 5.0 i think you can just click on
the link...it has some special plug-in. if not just download it.
tired. meeting in the middle of tuesday screws me up.
mountain dew saved the day...only 8 oz. went a long way.
updated quotes...added humorous quotes too.
10-11-99
passed the 2300 mark.
the overnights screw me up lots.
updated papers i done written page.
includes new story for English 101 which is due today. 1800 words. This
is the rough draft, but final will be pretty much the same thing and will
be posted later. this is my first story ever, although most of it is made
up it's all well within the realm of things that happen at my work.
give me editorial topics here...i
had one before, but i lost it.
rage against the machine will be in sacramento in late november...20th
i think...i'm there, without a doubt. if it is the 20th i'll have to find
someone to cover my shift.
so far the quote thing works...i think i'm going to add a funny quote button
too...to balance it out.
hoping for receiver...very soon. hoping for cds....very soon.
phil might be coming in two weekends...yippee. must get friday off if that
is the case. then i'll have to survive the overnight too. it sucks that
i work on friday and saturday nights. i need the money though.
too late. sleepy.
behind on HW...history is a bitch, poli sci classes have good deal of reading
too. english requires that you talk about reading so kinda got to read
it by class time. the other classes just have tests. oh well.
tell me what you think of the story. it's in word 7.0 format so you should
be okay if you have any word processor post 1996.
blah blah blah.
10-9-99
Beastie Boys news...it's official, i think. nov 23rd...a best of 2 cd set.
this is the other album that i told you all about a few months ago...the
first being a remix lp. i'm so fucking happy.
i'll be buying the rage against them maching single on the 12th...you can
be sure.
the things that make me that happy are very few.
have an interesting english paper to do. reporting type narrative thingy...with
that type of description i'll fail it. at any rate i'm going to do 'a day
in the life of...' type deal...and it's going to be a day at the shelter...should
be easy to come up with plenty of stuff.
10-8-99
updated recent movies list.
it's too late to do much.
10-6-99
went to sleep at around 9, but got woken up twice by phone and several
times by loud roommates...gay. now it's 2am.
updated the quotes above...a lot.
class at 11. work the overnight tonight...shitty.
called phil, gio, and johnny...no one was home. later phil called though
so yippee.
rode back from the last overnight, sunday, it was slower, but still good
for me. i averaged around 17 mph...top speed was only about 28. i want
to get some aero bars...when i went in that position i went about 1 mph
faster, but it was uncomfortable because i had my forearms on the regular
metal handlebars.
have you noticed the time and date on the lower left hand corner?
i haven't gone out and bought a new cd in a while.
need to lube up bike. new back rim. new back tire. aero bars. clean it.
rewrap handlebars. raise seat. eventually i guess.
johnny doesn't update enough.
if i had some grand goal at least i'd have something to keep my mind on.
right now i just float from one goal to another...trying moderately at
each.
need to make list of small projects to keep occupied (uh, in between homework
that is).
i've said enough.
10-5-99
been hectic.
updated archive page.
updated schedule...look at wednesday
night now.
school has started. classes aren't too bad, yet. three big papers (8-15
pages). many small ones (for english).
English teacher is hardcore...damn!
tell me if the random quote thing above doesn't work.
just when i was getting lots of visitors i had to not update for so long.
such is life.
they wanted to charge for receiver...i told them it was under warranty,
they will fix for free...scary for a bit though.
3 girls have said i'm either 'hot','cute', or 'really cool' in the last
couple weeks. bfd. 2 are taken...1 needs to get on my jock and forget the
other guy, 1 i don't care about, and the other is as close to asexual as
possible.
utter gayness.
drugs are bad. you are dumb if you use them.
thanksgiving is looking like a lost cause. busy busy busy...reminds
me of cat's cradle...excellent book...see the cat...see the cradle? ha!
9-29-99
school is tomorrow. i thought it wasn't till friday.
updated schedule, mp3
list (text version), everything
(mp3s).
bored.
everyone is back home now.
heard new rage song...pretty good, not great. i will like them all though...this
i know.
receiver was sent today...yippee. thanks scott.
slept too much, went to sleep too late. this must change.
lifting everyday now. a 35 pound bar, it works i guess.
computer crashed...completely froze...weird, first time in few months.
yippee.
bye.
9-29-99
117 hits this month...the most since may...Feb had most with 190.
work after 3 hours of sleep was fun. i'm still awake, it's 2:30.
picture of atom bomb explosion...subtitle - we were first! or that's what
you get for being commie sympathizers! not sure yet, but i think i must
have something to that effect.
hitler addressing crowd...full body shot...at top 'hitler wore khakis'
at the bottom 'gap'. vern's idea - vern working at desk or biting into
apple...bottom says 'think different' mac logo in corner.
darwin symbol mounting flipped over jesus fish symbol. yippee.
blank cds - no show yet. but i don't have anything to record yet anyway,
this will change tomorrow.
ups missed package again...damn...will miss tomorrow...i'll be asleep and
they come between 9-12....gay.
i love mcgwire as much as steve young...that's a lot!
49ers...good showing overall. like phillips...clean up act=good. tennessee
will be challenge.
have more than 100 cds i want.
rage's new single is out...guerilla radio. album title undetermined...still.
nov. 2 is the release date...i'll be there. looking for mp3, if you can
find i will rub feet. dead links suck.
next month will have many hits. i feel it.
funky music is a must...what song is that from?
that's all.
9-28-99
lots of hits last week.
sickness is fading.
snuck into corn maze today with gio (christina), stacy, and scott. very
fun.
work tomorrow, should be sleeping, but i saw something that disturbs me:
Sammy Sosa has 604 at bats this year and 61 home runs and 74 walks. Mark
McGwire has 508 at bats, 61 home runs and 126 walks, oh and has played
in 8 fewer games...so what's this talk that Sosa is anywhere near the home
run hitter? McGwire has a better team, 4 more RBIs, and 26 fewer strikeouts
too, oh and a better slugging average and a better on base percentage too...so
shut up Sosa is batting .291 and McGwire is batting .276...that's about
all someone can say as far as Sosa being better. This preaching is continued
from my past tirades. 12
wish different people visited webpage, but i gotta advertise for that.
oh well.
sponsor still yields dime...so try
it.
haven't seen movie on big screen for a while, but a couple are coming out...fight
club among them.
class in couple days...really really gay.
oh McGwire has 1 more run than sosa too. just so you know.
ups came today...i wasn't here, so they didn't pick up. shit!
writer works, but i have only two blanks CDs...more forthcoming.
3:16am wake up at 7a...catch bus at 8...work at 9...leave at 7p...home
by 8:15p, IF bus has room for bike. last three times it hasn't...first
time (after overnight) i rode home (approx. 15 miles....actually pretty
fun...hit 34.9 mph!) second time i waited one hour for next bus to come,
it did, but also had no room so i finally called scott...cross fingers
that it doesn't happen again. i think after every overnight (sat-sun morning)
i will ride back home...good work out.
isn't John 3:16 some famous passage...is there a book of John? fuck if
i know.
9-24-99
mp3 list updated, but without a few
recent downloads.
got writer...yay.
should take more pics with quickcam...but of what?
need to call ups to pick up receiver...soon.
i'm sick. shit.
9-23-99
Frank Wilson& The Cavaliers did Last Kiss before Pearl Jam
need to get ready for the big party. yippee. must get costume...i guess.
christina is cool.
you're welcome.
must help her with cleaning.
chemical brothers make good remixes.
might buy cd-writer tomorrow. maybe. we'll see.
we'll see.
9-22-99
you get what you give
got back receiver yesterday - yay.
receiver broke last night - gay.
i should get a credit card and buy a new one - after all it's only money.
music is better than money any day of the week.
fuck
need to buy books. great.
fuck you too.
9-19-99
a wise friend once told me: " you can give a man some bread but show him
how to build a house and he wont be so damn cold all the time"
i was at work and it was payday...a co-worker asked me if i had gotten
Scott's paycheck (since he's out of town). I patted my butt to make sure
the check was in my back pocket and said 'yea'. then she said 'whoa, didn't
need to know about you and scott doing that stuff' (or something to this
effect). i corrected her interpretation of my gesture by once again patting
my butt and this time saying 'i meant afFIRMative'. i thought johnny, especially,
might enjoy that little pun.
click on sponsor.
9-18-99
patience is a virtue.
need to buy posters...need malcolm ten (oh yea, i mean X...ha ha) poster.
yes NEED.
dirtchamber sessions cd rocks...excellent transitions.
if you like music you should own jilted generations and led zeppelin IV.
updated recent movies list.
the first two black sabbath albums were released in 1970, the first two
led zeppelin albums were released in 1969 - holy fucking shit that is crazy.
4 albums, 2 years, 2 bands. never again such greatness, so close together.
updated cd list - prodigy's jilted generation cd moves from honorable mention
to within the top 15. yippee.
hey dream girl my email address is cdawg@ucdavis.edu - mail me.
9-17-99
had show today - almost all jazz, it was good. free jazz is fun. indie
pop is gay right now.
being alone all the time is gay.
that's all.
9-11-99
bored.
work overnight tonight. that will be boring.
made massive list of cds i want.
links to pics work. some of the pics are dark, but that's okay.
bored still.
still no receiver.
scott still in mexico, vern in berkeley and then santa cruz, jon still
in SF.
woke up at 5p today went to sleep at 6a - hope that helps with the overnight...it
should.
if you can find a "cool hand luke poster" tell me...the only one i found
so far was $250. so after much thought i passed on that purchase.
beastie boys poster looks really nice - mounting was $30 and worth it.
40X60 - 240 sq. in. of pleasure...kinda like something else i know.
anywho. good bye.
9-10-99
more drumming today.
played N64
took pics of room. posted here
fantasy baseball should be well in hand in another week...i should be in
third.
bored.
work today 5-10
girls are troubling...bad like a cold, but no one wants a cold - if you
catch my drift.
prodigy's "jilted generation" cd fucking rocks, but i already knew that.
call me a sellout, but i like Jay-Z's 'hard knock life'
mtv VideoMusicAwards show is a joke, but the beastie boys still won everything
they were nominated for. of course being among groups like the backstreet
boys makes it less of an achievement, but still...
kinda updated the shoulds list,
although i think that it is a lost cause...there are so many and it's not
like people are actually going to take my advice.
9-9-99
updated cd list...now has stuff
i've gotten recently at top...like mp3 list...will update mp3 list soon.
added a movie page...as if i don't have enough pages already. this is a
list of movies i've seen recently...i rank them (thumbs up or down, because
numbers get annoying) and say a little blurb about them if i want.
waiting on receiver...please come soon, i'm dying for non-headphone music.
i need some more editorial topics. so if you want to hear me complain about
something or go off on something...just suggest it here.
phil is in europe...lucky bastard. he wrote me an e-mail from a phone booth...pretty
cool stuff.
"the end" is an excellent song.
been drumming lately...that's fun even though i lack coordination.
9-8-99
phone shit is fixed and that's that.
fantasy baseball is lacking big time because of it.
the niners sucked against denver, but denver is good so it wasn't like
losing to the bengals or anything.
scott's going to mexico for a while.
school is coming up. will update schedule when i can.
bike has flat tire.
sleep has been interesting.
that's all.
9-1-99
Rage Against the Machine's new album...due November 3rd. they said that
they are very proud of it, so that's good.
my receiver is dead. think it was my fault, trying to get fixed now. we'll
see
in the meantime i have to listen to music on headphones so that sucks.
13th warrior was good, John McTiernan rocks.
i'm bored...no where to go. all two of my friends are gone.
went to sleep at 7am woke up at 2pm missed the UPS guy so hopefully he'll
come tomorrow to pick up the receiver.
get paid friday. need to buy posters and mount my beastie boys poster so
that i can completely fill my walls with decorations.
new room is good so far.
vern is messy, but what else is new.
should i go watch a movie?
the only movie i'd want to watch by myself is outside providence since
it's funny so i might do that.
my schedule is so screwed.
show tomorrow.
work 5-10p friday, work 10p-8a saturday. gay.
click sponsor to give me dime.
to go it is time.
ha.
oh fiona apple's new album title is 90 words long - loser.
8-28-99
the beastie boys 12" came yesterday...that was fast.
i'm moved in. it's dope
johnny's was cool, played horseshoes, badminton, went shooting (at cans),
went to the boardwalk, mall, downtown, etc. hung out plenty...it was a
good trip...train was slow, but gave my MiniDisc a workout.
johnny lent me a camera for the computer so i will take some pictures of
new room, me, friends, butt, & whatever else.
have work today for 5 hours.
phones aren't connected...for new rooms that is so i have my phone upstairs
and for online i use jesus's line...until it gets changed. but that's the
only problem with new room so far.
i didn't hook up my record player so i better buy one that has a phono
output quick.
lots of decorating to do.
thinking about hooking up speakers that go into the bathroom and having
those on speaker set B on the receiver...should be fun to use my old computer
speakers for something good.
that's all.
8-24-99
going to johnny's today.
work - fine.
made a cd case which should fit about 1000 cds, so i'll be set....for a
while.
green day is right - nice guys finish last.
13 hits on tuesday...that's dope, phat, tight, cool, etc.
beastie boys scientists of sound lp is coming within a couple days.
i lack funds.
moving this weekend...hopefully. need to straighten out phone situation...and
need to make those involved care enough to pack up.
last radio show was with vern...went pretty well.
they're going to great america...vern his girl, her roommate and her man...sounds
like i missed out on being excluded...darn, i guess johnny's place will
have to do. i'm not exactly keen on amusement parks anyway.
hear jon got a new reciever and cd player...must be fun to have 1600 bucks
handed to you...but not having it handed to you builds character so yippee.
i'm spoiled still.
saw killing zoe...another on the must see list...pretty good, but not excellent.
saved 40 bucks by building the cd case. it fits twice as many cds too.
and it gave me something to do.
i need more projects...little stuff.
i finished cat's cradle in case i didn't already say that...really good
book. first i've read for pleasure in about 5 years, beside aptpupil...which
was a novella, so i don't know if that counts. reading can be good if the
author cares to entertain rather than talk about a bead of sweat dripping
from some idiots brow for five pages...that's why i don't read too much...that
and the fact that stories these days don't seem as clever as cat's cradle
was. but i'm probably just ignorant. at any rate if you have any suggestions
for a good book along the lines of vonnegut - tell me. i've read slaughter
house five, so go from there.
bored.
tired.
was late for work today. worked an hour after to make up for it...then
took a bus two hours after work was after. i was misinformed about the
bus running near work after 7p - it didn't so i had to walk to mall - took
one hour...then waited 30mins for bus then 25 mins on bus, then 10 mins
on bike...approx. figures of course.
need to drink some soda....i'm a fiend.
8-17-99
been getting more hits...that's nice.
cd list is updated. i passed the
275 mark.
I went looking for building supplies for my cd case...it's going to be
about 50 buck cheeper making the case than buying it from tower.
sources say there is a new STP album...coming november. a new Rage Against
The Machin album is expected in october, but the site says nothing to confirm.
Beastie Boys 12" with remixes of Hello Nasty era stuff coming this year.
Got my two BS 2000 albums on vinyl...two @ $8 compared to the $150 people
were paying a few months ago when it was out of print....good deal just
for waiting i'd say.
saw menace II society again yesterday - excellent. you should see it. and
i saw do the right thing - spike lee rocks.
updated mp3 list too
8-14-99
johnny and vern are both back so things are getting back to normal. i work
on monday from 8am-4pm which sucks because it means i need to wake up at
6.
blair witch project was really good, but not the best horror film ever.
seeing lock stock and two smoking barrels later tonight which should be
nice.
need to eat.
i'm up at 10am for some reason...weird.
if i have 270 cds and most cds at tower or other cd stores cost around
16 dollars how much money have i spent on CDs? holy shit that's crazy.
of course i don't usally pay 16 bucks, except for imports when i pay 25-32
bucks. then there are the singles which average around 7-8 bucks, mostly
because the beastie boys singles are so expensive, but they also come with
posters or videos on them for the computer so it usually makes it worth
the buy, even for a non bboy fan. i've got 7 imports. and 3 bootlegs, which
usally cost the same, but i traded so they were free. and i've got 15 singles...i
rather not figure out exactly how much it adds up to. but i can tell you
that if you want a lot of cds you better find someone like Mariescds@aol.com
or buy a cd writer so you can split the cost of cd with your friend and
then give them a copy.
Sixth Sense is a must see for anyone who is alive or dead...blair witch
project is also a must see, so just see both of them.
fantasy football coming up. fantasy baseball is good, i'm almost in third
after being in ninth the whole year. i'm also number 33,xxx out of 330,xxx
so that's nice.
wonder if i'll get hits for the XXX above? ha ha ha
i kinda updated the about me page, and the rants page
8-8-99
there are some movies that are meant to entertain, others are meant to
teach, great movies do both. what i have in mind are movies like boyz in
the hood, menace to society, shawshank redemption, and American History
X, which I just saw.
movies and music, alike, often lend insight into societies problems...Summer
of Sam (spike lee) did a good job, just as the rest of the movies i listed.
songs like the message by grandmaster flash, war pigs by black sabbath,
something's got to give by the beastie boys, everything that rage against
the machine has done, etc. all help understand society's lackings. my point?
there are some movies you should watch a few times in your life, some songs
you should listen, really listen, to and there are some books that
you should read to be a better more understanding person.
i think i'll make a list. if you
have suggestions please send them....this list is in NO WAY comprehensive,
i.e. there's no way in hell i'll be able to cover everything, this is just
a small list i have come up with off the top of my head.
8-5-99
ordered bs 2000, two of em.
radio show was today...forgot it was thursday (i thought it was still wednesday)...as
a result i was 20 mins. late and unprepared. it still went well though
and it was more fun. i wasn't nervous either. maybe i'll prepare on wednesdays
instead and then just come in 10 mins before the show so i won't be all
wound up.
package came today, but i wasn't here to sign so they left it at the office...i'll
go there early tomorrow to see if my things have arrived...hopefully it's
what i'm waiting for and not something for jesus or something.
one more month in this room...sept. first i move downstairs and start paying
more.
work is jacking me...first my boss didn't call to schedule, then when i
called her she wasn't there, then i called again and she was and then she
only gave me like 25 hours a week...lame, esp. when someone just got fired
there should be more hours avail...before the break i was getting around
40...i think i'll just drop by with scott when she isn't there and work
without being scheduled. could get in trouble. couldn't care less.
whoa, i'm a bad ass. psych. not. ha ha.
hits hits hits hits.
run-d.m.c. raising hell is an excellent album.
i need more space for cds. i think i will make a cd case rather than sinking
90 bucks into a pre-made one.
i need to stock up some money this month for the school year....uh oh yea
i'm only working 25 hours a fucking week! shit that bitch.akljsfd
i get a paycheck friday (tomorrow), but that will be small.
i think i'll sell my soul, should be able to buy a nice turntable with
the money from that.
if she disses me and keeps this 25 hour crap i'm going to get another job
or something...oooh, i'll do yardwork...gotta go look on the ucd job site.
later.
8-3-99
i'm back.
bs 2000 still isn't out yet.
my paycheck was more than i thought.
i got a cd writer and it's working...i'll probably return it within the
14 days, but at least i can back up some stuff make a few copies and rest
assurred that my computer isn't hopeless in terms of future cd writers
being installed.
camp was fun.
i'm getting barely any hits these days.
johnny and luke are both gone so that's one reason.
that's all for now.
work meeting was interesting...lots of shit happened while i was gone.
one person was fired and another could be...jeesh calm down people.
7-21-99
I leave later today.
I have my radio show later today.
I'm packing now.
I got three more cds today. damn that rocks. 21 in three days. as a result
i deleted 13 mp3s.
I think we're leaving to get back to davis on monday because both scott
and i have work/meeting on tuesday. that means i'll actually have sunday
and part of monday to relax without little punks.
I work with kids a lot...never woulda thunk it.
I, I, I. learn to start a sentence some other way.
I want to send my receiver to the repair center to see if they can do anything
about the very mild, only slightly noticeable, once in a while hiss on
the right channel...i don't think it's big, but i figure since i only have
to pay for shipping i may as well do it.
BS 2000 still isn't on sale...i want two, that's the max, but they aren't
on sale yet, damn!
next paycheck will pay for a new cd player...5 disc carousel...my portable
was freaking out the other day and i want a 5 disc changer too. my cd player
gets used a lot.
music is good. i like music.
updated cd list.
moment of silence for JFK jr.
okay i'm over it. i'll lose more sleep when jello biafra, marilyn manson,
or noam chomsky die. sorry to tell you.
cake cd is solid, but not great. i also got the godzilla cd and bob marley
- catch a fire, today.
the stanley kubrick films thereof cd is good. as is the u2 best of, cassius
1999 was a surprise (go astralwerks!),
chili peppers was solid, better than cake's, eminem was the most pleasant
surprise. nat king cole was pretty good too. oh and the tangerine dream
cd was good chill music...new wave.
nice mix i think...new wave (tangerine dream)...rap (whodini & eminem)....pop
(u2 and godzilla soundtrack to an extent)...oldies/vocal star (nat king
cole)...synth pop/electronica (cassius/source material cds)...classical
(stanley kubrick films cd)...latin (buena vista social club)...reggae (bob
marley)...indie rock/pop (bis)...metal/hard rock (ozzy, skid row, and jimmy
page & robert plant and godzilla soundtrack to an extent)...alternative
(chili peppers and godzilla soundtrack to an extent) and then there are
those that i decline to categorize....depeche mode and scott weiland.
i like.
7-20-99
updates and hits have been very sporadic lately. i'll get 6 hits a day
and then zero for the next two. i'll update two days in a row and then
not for another week. i won't update from the 24th through the 1st of august.
i've gotten 18 cds in the last 2 days, no joke. it rocks. a few days before
that i got 5. i'm out of space for cds so i'll have to build or buy some
kind of huge case.
i got a couple from the astralwerks label, the new red hot chili peppers
one, tangerine dream, ozzy osbourne, u2, skid row, elvis costello, buena
vista social club, depeche mode - violator, heart, nat king cole, bis,
eminem (good shit), whodini, and music from the films of stanley kubrick...to
name a few. those are the most notable cds. i'm pretty happy so far with
most of them. i've had barely anytime to listen to music though.
i had work today and i didn't wake up until about 2 so i didn't listen
to much of the new music. i have 10 hours of work tomorrow, but i'll get
back home around 9:30 since i get off work at about 7pm...bad travel time.
then i have the radio show the next day so i'll have to listen to that
music during that day. i think i might leave thursday night too. we'll
see.
i'll bring my cd player for the car though so scott and i can listen to
my new cds and i can get my fill before going off to camp for a week. the
kids at camp are going to be hellish.
tim, a client from work, left friday before i got a chance to say goodbye...they
leave so quickly. work tomorrow will seem longer without him, it did today.
rick rubin produced the new chili peppers cd...he rocks.
bs2000 is suppossed to be re-issued today, but so far it's not for sale
online.
7-14-99
per at bat McGwire still has more homers than anyone in both leagues in
the HR race. He's a pimp. His batting average is down a lot though this
year.
sammy sosa strikes out a LOT more and McGwire has about 40 something more
walks thans Sosa. I'd rather have Mark...he's the shit. besides there are
plenty of good outfielders out there, jeff bagwell is the only first baseman
who can honestly say he's anywhere near as good as McGwire, on this off
year.
i need to wake up in 7 hours.
cold is better, the cough persists slightly though.
marilyn manson's music is good, i'm dealing with it you should too.
bob dylan's music is good too, you should have dealt with that by now as
well.
kurt cobain's music is also good, deal with that one too.
i got a letter from helen thompson on the CA assembly after i wrote her
that e-mail about the colorado thing and attached my poli sci essay...she
wrote to say thanks for the letter and that she read the essay and of course
agreed with me that education is really important. i guess the world won't
end as soon as i thought.
7-13-99
so much for regular updates.
i worked 50+ hours last week and about 25 this week in three days.
i leave friday.
i want to see eyes wide shut thursday, but i might wait to see with dad.
seeing american pie tomorrow, probably.
only five hours of work tomorrow. ten the next day.
my first solo radio show was okay, next is on the 22nd. i'm sick, but getting
better it was horrible the day of the show. sleep has suffered because
of it.
i'm able to afford insurance so i need to hit up my dad for the car. we'll
see about that.
nothing spectacular. johnny leaves wednesday.
wish list revised is here.
7-4-99
all but two of my friends are at least 1.5 hours away. of those remaining
one has work the other has a quasi-boyfriend person. i'm over it.
music is good.
i plan on watching the summer of sam and then sneaking into big daddy after
that, or the vise versa, but watching both is my plan for tonight. oh and
eating something other than birthday cake and 'sticky buns' (really good
cinnamon buns without the white glaze all in a loaf and homemade = really
really good). between those two presents i think i can gain about 10 lbs
and rot three more teeth. thus i have brushed my teeth thrice today and
lifted a barbell a few times.
my show is thursday. i need a 120 min. tape, and i need to prepare a bit.
i don't think i'll have a guest which isn't a good thing, i.e. it's either
bad or somewhere in the middle.
that last sentence was as gay as grease. no the movie.
for the last three months i've spent over $100 a month on music. in june,
may, and april i spent more on music than on food. the good news is that
my cd cases are full. the bad news is that i can always get more cases.
the good news is that i'm making more money now. the bad news is that i
should probably start paying for books and clothes now. the good news is
that that bad news is good in the long run. the good news is that there
is more good news than bad news.
Out of Order by Thomas E. Patterson is a good book about the media
sucking. read it or you are a dolt, nimcompoop, and a fool to boot, says
James Carville.

the fist word of the beastie boy album "hello nasty" is "well" the last
is "death"...interesting observation by me, myself, and i.
i've been listening to that album more lately. it's good. very good.
did nothing today. i hope i work 50 hours every week for the rest of the
summer. except whittle time when i work 24 hrs a day.
that's all.
6-26-99
lots of work this week. 14 on sunday, 9.5 on tuesday, 5.5 on wednesday,
8 on thursday, 14.5 on friday, and 5.5 today (sat.)
that amounts to money for a new CD-R if i wanted, but i don't think i'll
do that. i have a new system...cash my checks and get all cash, except
$ for rent, phone and utils. everything else cash and put money at the
beg. of the month in a bottle for savings, new cd player, etc. and then
some for food....it'll make me manage my money better since it's cash and
not just a check or a number in my checkbook.
got a ride from tristan to work today, only to learn that all the clients
were at the pool, in davis. so the staff left at the shelter packed up
to relieve those staff already at the pool and we went back to davis. after
work i needed to get home somehow...the bus was supposed to leave around
10:45pm from the mall, only problem was getting to the mall in woodland
from the shelter. it's 5 miles away and i got off work at 10 so i couldn't
exactly walk. i got a ride and got on the bus that was there waiting, my
ride left. the bus driver asked where i was going i said davis he said
this bus doesn't go to davis and then said he didn't think that there were
anymore buses coming. i started thinking about the 16 mile walk home...i
would have rather walked than gotten a ride. the bus driver called up for
me and asked if there was another bus coming. as he was on the phone the
bus pulled up, i got on and went to davis. that was the first time that
the bus worked for me...good thing too.
i walked home 1 mile from the bus stop because i thought i was going to
pick up my bike from a friend's house, but i didn't have my keys so i couldn't
unlock the bike from outside her place. oh well.
sold my cd writer, money isn't in pocket yet though.
when roommates leave beer in the refrigerator it's a wise idea to dump
out the liquid, clean the inside with water and moutwash and then use the
bottle as a piggy bank...i've got four piggy banks and have prevented people
from being idiots.
i have lots of mp3s.
led zeppelin is a good, strike that, great band. rolling stones are a good
band, but overrated cuz they are old. same with aerosmith, but more so.
aerosmith and the rolling stones are still good though, don't get me wrong.
rick rubin is perhaps the greatest producer in music, ever.
6-21-99
spent 14 hours at work...shift was 10 hours. bus on sunday sucks or is
non-existent.
Dingel (sp.?) amendment passed...fuck idiots...all 218 of them, vs. the
211 smart representatives. i saw the debates on c-span and the dumb people
(NRA paid no doubt) kept saying that the amendment would protect the rights
of the people...bullshit...it adds more loopholes than something with a
lot of loopholes and makes the waiting period almost obsolete. the issue
is not whether people can buy guns or not, it's just how long they need
to wait and if 'law abiding citizens' (as the NRA reps kept refering to
hunters and NRA members as) can't wait up to 6 days to make sure felons
get guns then they should suck a brick or something really bad.
the highlight of the debates, from what i saw, was when a black democratic
representative (i think he was actually from TX, but that doesn't sound
right based upon what he said) went off on how stupid the amendment was
(is) and despite the gavel being pounded, signally his time being up, he
kept going on about how the Dingbat amendment was a giant loophole and
wasn't going to harm law abiding citizens, but make sure that felons didn't
get weapons - plain and simple. i was quite exciting, cheering for him
and the like...it was the most exciting political moment of my career in
politics.
6-20-99
girls don't have to be girlfriends - a good lesson.
since my b-day is approaching i think it wise to post a wish
list of sorts.
today, technically, i have 10 hours of work...that was a short break.
6-18-99
finals are done.
a movie need not be entertaining to be great. Jungle Fever is a
great film. sadly though some laugh to avoid feeling uncomfortable, or
say the ending is weird just because they don't understand it.
i'm selling my cd writer. fuck it.
show will be every other thursday 2:30-4:30pm for the summer
finals could have been worse...could have been better. we'll see.
girls interest me.
wouldn't life be easier if we were all just honest? i tried it...it works.
you should try it sometime.
i forgot, how many times do you live again?
6-12-99
out of about 60 hours i slept a total of 4 and consumed 4 liters of mountain
dew, wrote a total of 21 pages, read many more, took one take home quiz
and went to 5 hours of classes. the papers are done and i slept 13 hours
last night. i got high off the mountain dew it was weird.
i'll start updating a lot more often once finals are over.
not much great has happened....
oh girls are confusing so if you are one...just don't be impossible.
i revamped my mp3 lists...text version,
winamp
generated version, word 7.0 version,
and made it less broken...every update before May 99 is now integrated
into the main list...makes it easier to find stuff for those that can't
use the find command. i left the deletions list just because...and those
are seperated by date still...not sure if i'll keep it like that. i also
have a beastie boys only list (includes
adrock's solo BS 2000 project)...150 something there and a list containing
every mp3 on my hard drive,
except those in the download directory...both these lists are in the winamp
generated format. updated the mp3/cd wish list too.
also check out the domains list...people
from weird domains are visiting my site.
also updated the cd list a bit.
only a few additions, but it's completely current.
added two papers to the papers list.
6-2-99
updated mp3 list and cd
list.
i think my cd writer is officially dead...i'm gonna sell it on ebay pretty
soon...because i'm pretty sure it's my computer not liking it...unless
i can find HP gold on gold cds...those seem to be the only ones that work.
so if you can find gold on gold cds made by hp tell me please!
i have between 19 and 24 pages due by the 10th...i have done about 3 pages
worth so far. shit.
have work tomorrow.
went running today.
5-26-99
"Like the latest fashion, Like a spreading disease, The kids are strappin'
on their way to the classroom, Getting weapons with the greatest of ease"
- Offspring 1994 "strappin'" for you older folks means carrying a gun or
'gat'.
my cd cases are running out of space and when i get my paychecks they will
be full....need to get a super cd case that carries like 500 cds.
i need to go now.
yesterday i had three glasses of lemonade, .8 lbs of bread and a frozen
yogurt.
5-25-99
as a freshman you have an excuse for not doing too hot in school because
you 'are adjusting'...this is true. second year there is the phenomenon
they call the sophomore slump...sounds about right....fourth year there
is 'senioritis'...i have experienced all of the above...by these rationale
the only year you are expected to do well is junior year...sounds about
right in my case.
it's quite amazing how important it is to update your webpage, dust your
room, clean the bathroom, etc. when you have a paper to work on....i was
so bored i almost talked with jon!
show last night was my personal favorite we're getting really good, good
in the sense that we can do our mixing well, sometimes getting lucky, but
luck is a residue of design...good also because we are able to come in
only 30 mins before show time and still put on really good show. and we
handle problems a lot better...like last week turning the levels up for
turntable #3 made and echo so we didn't use that turntable and used the
echo to add to the mixing and our voices...i guess we're just getting good
like that. work later today...hopefully that bus deal works out.
i'm out of debt...that's dope.
5-23-99
so i haven't updated for shit lately, losing hits so here's the update.
i have a 3-4 page paper 'prospectus' due on tuesday...went to library to
work on that.
nothing really great or bad has happened.
got a d+ on my midterm in poli sci 175 (same class as the paper)
classes are getting more and more gay and i'm getting more and more lazy
started work. took over 2 hours to get there by bus. would have taken half
that time if i biked.
reciever has weird crackling sound like the beginning of a record in right
channel at constant volume and only happens once in a while, but it's enough,
esp. when on headphones to bug the hell out of me. that figures...nothing
i buy actually ends up working correctly for very long.
added papers link to left. page has always been there, but no link i guess
i forgot it or something.
show tonight. great.
i've been eating better lately.
school sucks i'm getting burned out.
mp3 and cd lists updated
5-11-99
show last night was from 3-6 instead of 2-4, it was long and tiring.
whittle stuff came i'm getting all paperwork ready for that.
weekend was awesome, two of the most fun days every. my body has been abused
lately...hit by car while riding bike, land on head while jumping on trampoline,
and getting tossed like a rag doll 8 feet in the air while 'tubing' (being
pulled by boat while in inner tube)...i hit that huge wake quite fast...it
rocked. i'm fine so don't worry.
two midterms on thursday, we'll see about that...don't feel too good about
either.
cd writer still doesn't work...that's gay.
got the job for woodland youth services...will be up here pretty much the
whole summer working full time. i'll be a mentor type for abused/neglected
kids with behavior problems, should be interesting, but rewarding.
i should update more, but i've been lazy, busy, gone.
updated mp3 list...winamp generated
one anyway. accidently overwrote the mp3 page. so it's revamped.
sleep schedule is screwed. i'm tired. next update thursday night.
5-1-99
so i hadn't done anything about the columbine shit...so i felt bad after
lecturing everyone else...i'm sure no one did anything, but that's because
man is by nature a selfish animal. so i have now done something, here's
the e-mail i sent to feinstein, boxer, doug ose (my rep), and helen thompson
(assistant speaker pro temp for the california assembly):
I write to you about something very important. I'm sure you have
heard and
are sad about the Colorado tragedy...I write to you in the hope
that you can
make sure this kind of outrageousness is prevented in the future.
How might
you be able to accomplish this? Many blame this on the ability
of minors to
acquire guns.
I feel that this is only a minor problem compared to the bigger
picture - an
alienated and disengaged polity, an un-educated polity. When I say
educated
I mean not just book-wise, but also in socialization skills for
this too is
a job that should be dealt within schools - especially since parents
these
days value bowling more than PTA meetings.
Without lecturing you on my stances I have attached
an essay I wrote on why
education is the biggest problem in the country today...I also explain,
to a
certain extent, what education should entail. I also leave it up
to you to
contact me if you want to bounce your ideas off me...yea right.
Essentially
I feel that more emphasis should be placed on education. As a result
of my
convictions I will write you once a week outlining further what
my views
are. You'll have to earn my vote, not buy it like so many of your
peers do.
not meant to win a pulitzer, but get the point across. so now i'm not a
hypocrite and hopefully you feel bad enough to actually do something. if
oprah can, then maybe you should.
funny/sad story: realized i had latin quiz today (friday) last night at
9pm...started studying some vocab and basic declension type crap...watched
er and went on computer...next thing i know it's 3 am...darn...set alarm
for 8 am (class is at 11 am) instead of pm like i did the other day (i
usually wake up at 10 am for the 11 am class, but i set the alarm for 10
pm two days ago...oh well.) i set it for 8 so i could study before going
to the class...next morning: i am half awake and feel well rested, surprisingly
considering the fact that the alarm hasn't gone off and i went to sleep
so late...i look at watch expecting it to be 7:59, one minute before the
alarm is going to go off...i look at watch it's 10:47...shit! i roll over
and lay in bed for two mins...there is another latin class at 1 pm, but
i have work from 1-3 pm so i'd have to get a sub...also it's frowned upon
to goto the 1 pm class on test days, but not forbidden...i jump out of
bed, wash face, brush teeth, put on deodorant, get into yesterday's clothes
and bike against the wind to school in about 8 mins...one minute late,
but no teacher...i study for 1 minute...teacher comes in and returns hw...study
one more minute and take quiz...fail it. we have one drop grade, no worries.
where is jon? i don't know...he used to keep me abreast of such happenings,
but blood is going to the other head i guess. that's how the ball bounces.
played basketball today...been doing that lately...i sucked and got pushed
around by tristan and jesus...they are big i am not...jesus plays like
his life is on the line, but vern and i lost nonetheless...i demand rematch
i'm not taking prisoners this time.
spell check for composer is gay...catches all these "..." and asks me about
them. spell check for outlook express doesn't work. weird.
hey if you click on my sponsor i get a dime now...i'm not changing the
graphic i'm lazy, but still click there mutha fucka!
hmmmm. oh rage against the machine announced tour dates...two in new york
one in japan...you get the point nothing anywhere near here....yet, i hope.
i can't goto any concerts until i goto either beastie boys OR rage against
the machine, once i go to either, not both, i can go to others...it's my
rule, it's gotta be done. they've earned it.
oh, big development....rage against the machine was ousted from it's long-held
number two slot on my favorite bands...if you remember it was number one
until about october or november of 97...so where is rage now and who is
number two? rage is number 3 and led zeppelin is number 2. mostly because
zep has done more...i could listen to zep for 9 hours straight, one because
they made/i own that much music and two because they are that great...after
3 hours i run out of original material for rage, but that will change this
year...sometime. still no release date for new album
speaking of revolutionary music...marilyn manson, the internet, and doom
are the causes of the colorado thing...duh can you say scapegoat? for the
last 30 years a 10 year old could go into the library and check out the
anarchist cookbook and learn how to get high off of banana peels, make
plastique, make napalm, pipe bombs, etc. as for marilyn manson...well 'they'
better i hope i don't listen to rage against the machine's lyrics and actually
'take the power back'. the media is dumb.
tidbit: the top 1% of the population owns 40% of the country's wealth...counter-argument:
well clinton and those pricks have new legislation and they are creating
so many new jobs...and new wealth! oh. here: the top 1% of the population
owns 60% of the newly created wealth. there goes that theory. more
people are working more jobs with fewer benefits...
enough. me sleep.
4-28-99
basketball season is almost over and thus so is my fantasy basketball league.
show this week went well.
have that job interview tomorrow, need to figure out the bus schedule soon
because relying on scott is gay.
i like lemonade.
this month's page is going to be large, almost as large as october's.
hopefully i get the job and quitting my old one goes well, i feel bad but
that's how it works i guess.
4-22-99
not much to report
'all i really want is girls'
my computer is being gay...fixed ie 5.0, but cd-writer still ails me.
4-21-99
so my desperate plea for comments has yielded two in the last day. not
bad. i am working right now on all that has been asked of me.
day was same as any other wednesday. thursday i will play some basketball.
check out my gripe about the Colorao incident here.
it was quite the stream of consciousness so don't diss me for my spelling
or grammar, just get the point of it and you'll be a better person.
i also talk about overpopulation,
"being natural", college,
and drinking and drugs.
check all that out...it took a long time.
4-20-99
so colorado is the latest victim of incivility...this is gay and i hope
you think so enough to do something about it.
back at home vern is getting it on with his girlie girl. in the meantime
i'm updating my webpage and listening to schooly d.
looking into another job opportunity for this year and summer...we'll see.
4-19-99
ever since feb. i've been getting fewer and fewer hits per month. lots
fewer this month, but that is leftover from last month's slacking.
no one really comments on my page so i don't know what people like the
most...obviously not my mp3 list, but what do you think i should update
more often? i want to update the editorials more but don't have topics
really. submit comments and ideas here.
"if the vibe was suicide then you would push the button." -rage against
the machine.
that's all
4-14-99
updated campus cinema page. that director chick should give me gratuitous
sex or money, either would work for me just fine.
did spell check for editorial page...many mistakes, beside obide->abide.
picked up my KDVS 'gift' 'premium' whatever you want to call it for the
$20 tax deductible donation i made - two of the best cds i've gotten in
a while...i'm impressed. props to the Mad Hatter for suggesting them and
me for asking him to suggest something rather than just going with the
beatles white album or the money mark and cornelius cds.
schedule is real now.
johnny hasn't been updating his page lately, that sucks.
picnic day is this weekend - largest all student-run event in the nation...cool
and it's pretty good too. i'll be there will you?
johnny and bro are coming up this weekend so they will be there.
i left my wallet in el segundo.
it's a song.
helicopters and 300 more aircraft ordered to kosogay=ground troop support=gay
can't we all just get along?
the voices are telling me to stop
phil is camping as we speak for the phantom menace...man he's crazy about
star wars. it's all good

Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello (Harvard Educated) had a
online chat the other day at www.ratm.com and talked about several issues
- guess jeans sucking nuts and running sweat shops, kosovo being a gay
situation and other political issues, but here are a couple highlights:
Questions include:
1. How do you feel about "selling yourself out"
by putting music videos on MTV and such, a breeding ground for all the
money makers out there today?
2. Which bands have influenced you the most?
3. Tom how was the experience of getting arrested
for protesting a clothing manufacturer who is despicable
4. Tom- what guitarists had the most influence
on your style of playing?
5. Tom, do you object to people bootlegging your work
and circulating it as MP3's
Moderator Q: Which bands have
influenced you the most?
Tom Morello: When the band first formed I used to describe
our music as a cross between Soundgarden and Public Enemy. There's obviously
a healthy dose of punk rock in our sound as well. The Clash are my favorite
band of all time. And let us not forget the mighty Black Sabbath.
my comments: giving props to black sabbath...i like it! of course
they have done shows with the beastie boys...i like, and soundgarden rocks,
which you know if you know me and public enemy, well just check my mp3
list.
Moderator: Matt from Jersey...
Tom how was the experience of getting arrested for protesting a clothing
manufacturer who is despicable
Tom Morello: Guess Jeans, the despicable clothing manufacturer,
is still a company worthy of boycotting. They continue to operate sweatshops
here in Southern California, grossly underpaid workers, and sabotage union
activities. We attempted to purchase billboards in major cities around
the country a couple of years ago asking people to boycott Guess. Their
attorneys got to the billboard owners and succeeded in blocking our legal
attempts to buy billboard space. We then attempted to purchase radio commercial
time on alternative rock stations around the country exposing Guess' abuses.
Again, Guess was successful in intimidating radio stations (with the notable
exception of KROQ in Los Angeles) into not playing our anti-sweatshop spots.
At that point, it seemed that our only recourse to get news of the boycott
out was to perform some sort of civil disobedience. Myself and some 30
activists and organizers and student supporters were arrested for blocking
the entrance to a Robinson-May Company store in Santa Monica to protest
Guess Jeans. We spent about half a day in jail and it was pretty painless
and helped to spread word about the boycott. U.N.I.T.E., the garment workers
union, in the aftermath of the boycott achieved some major gains. Workers
who were fired for their union organizing activities were forced to be
rehired and many Guess workers received back pay for being gypped by the
company. You all should please continue to boycott Guess products until
they treat all their workers with the respect and dignity they deserve.
my comments: I give props to KROQ and guess - well their clothes
suck anyway.
Moderator: Charlie, Oakland CA- Tom,
do you object to people bootlegging your work and circulating it as MP3's
Tom_Morello: I have no objection to people listening
to Rage Against the Machine music for free. I'm not that familiar with
MP3, but some friends have run off some great bootleg albums for me which
I enjoy. When a shadow company takes the reigns though, and is profiting
at the expense of the ban
my comments: how can't you know about MP3? at any rate tom is less
of a tight ass than most. oh yea, b-boys and public enemy were two of the
first bands to offer samples of their music via the internet in mp3 format....figures
since they both rock my nut sack.
Tom_Morello: I'm a self-taught guitar player. I took a
couple of lessons when I was 13 and was very turned off by the rigidity
of the musical doctrine.
my comments: you are one of the greatest guitar players ever (in
my non-guitar playing opinion) oh yea and so was jimi...self-taught that
is.
Moderator: Mike in Portland,
OR. Tom- what guitarists had the most influence on your style of playing?
Tom Morello: I was drawn to the instrument by the guitar
heroics of guys like Jimmy Page and Randy Rhodes. But more eccentric players
like Andy Gill from Gang of Four or Alan Holdsworth have also been an influence.
These days my guitar playing is much more greatly influenced by DJ's, techno
wizards, and odd noises around the house.
my comments: check here
to figure out what i think about j. page.
Moderator: Al Dallas Tx. How
do you feel about "selling yourself out" by putting music videos on MTV
and such, a breeding ground for all the money makers out there today?
Tom_Morello: Again, this is a question that is only asked
by upper-middle-class white kids. When we got the thumbs-up from Leonard
Peltier from his jail cell at Leavenworth penitentiary on our video for
the song Freedom, we decided to go ahead with it despite some nagging and
whining from elitist indie rock circles. When we got the thumbs up from
sub-commandante Marcos from the jungles of Chiappas because he approved
of our MTV video for the song People of the Sun, we decided to go ahead
with it and braced ourselves for whatever whining was to come. We sleep
well at night knowing that we have forced into 50,000,000+ households the
case of Leonard Peltier and the struggle of the Zapatistas.
my comments: was that vern asking that question? was tom looking
straight at vern when he was answering that question? if it wasn't vern
asking that question it must have been a KDVS listener of some kind. right
on tom.
KDVS is doing the fundraiser show. If you wanted to make a donation you
can call them at 530-752-0728 and you can get lots of stuff, T-shirt, sets
of cds, other T-shirts etc. if you are a student it's 25 bucks if you are
a worker person it's 35 bucks. there's my pitch...it's a big week for us
in the radio station.
our fundraiser show went well, we had a guest dj..."daddy mack" we recorded
the computer speaking whatever we typed and then worked it into the show
with a script we prepared before the show. it went pretty well.
i dropped my sociology class and that's that.
i donated $20 and i'm getting two cds, good deal and it's a learning experience...open
up to new music you people.
i'm not getting very many hits lately, but oh well. i could offer good
mp3 sites on my site, but then i could get in trouble.
4-9-99
went rock climbing it rocked...ha ha...gay. my hands are tired.
click my sponsor and you'll hook me up with a dime now! cool, great.
sociology looks really boring so far...may drop it...i have lots of papers...3
over 10 pages, gay. we'll see if i stick with it. got a week to make up
mind yo. duh
jon is in san fran. gay. happy b-day.

okay it's updated here
april 7th
classes seem okay so far, we'll see.
tried formatting jon's girlfriend's (monique) computer...it worked then

21 people are staying at our houses...it's crazy
need to update campus cinema page.

April 3rd
What great band released two ground breaking albums in the same year? Hint, Answer
Now that I wasted a lot of time trying
to figure out that little bit of javascript I'll tell you the highlight
of my many trips to Fry's. Standing in an aisle looking at cd-roms and
some guy comes up to me and says he likes my shoes...i say thanks. he asks
where I got them. an outlet store somewhere i reply. he says again they
are really nice. yea thanks, i say again. he starts to look at the cd-roms
and a couple seconds later asks if he can buy them. uh (laugh) i say. i'm
serious, he says. uh, they're the only ones i have (laugh) i say. oh, they're
really nice. that's all
gotta go eat.
April 1st
got back from break
i spent 3 days trying to fix dad's
computer...to no avail. made 5 trips to fry's in search of the right motherboard,
cpu, mouse, hard drive. at first the computer just froze lots and the mouse
didn't work. i formatted. the mouse still didn't work. it still froze lots.
i replaced mouse and used old hard drive because the new hard drive could
not be recognized by the out-dated bios of the motherboard. installed mouse
it worked only if the floppy wasn't hooked up...uh darn. used phil's old
motherboard and cpu...didn't work. returned mouse got new motherboard...didn't
work with dad's old 100mhz cpu or phil's newer cyrix 150+ cpu. took to
mom's it worked with her cyrix 200+. weird. installed win NT for stability
purposes...video ran only at 16 colors, weird, but the mouse worked and
it wouldn't freeze - yay NT! microsoft can make good programs (other than
word). one problem - fry's is gay and failed to check the socket there
was a small plastic piece of shit missing which allows the cpu fan to be
braced on the cpu. returned motherboard to fry's for exact same one, but
with the vital piece...also bought cyrix 300+ cpu (only 45$!). hooked up
- no video, no beeps, nothing except my head exploding. called phil in
suicidal fit. i hooked up his 200mhz cpu to the same motherboard, set jumpers
accordingly, no video, no beeps. the only thing different between the time
i used mom's cpu and the time i used the new cyrix or phil's cpu are: the
motherboard was a different physical board, but the exact same type, make,
model, year, everything. monitor, keyboard, mouse and power cord. phil's
mouse, power cord, keyboard, and monitor are all working for sure...pretty
sure the same is true with dad's shit. therefore there are a few possibilities:
the board doesn't like any cpu other than a cyrix 200+, the motherboard
that i got (which was the only unopened one {straight from the factory,
not touched and returned by any slimy fry's customers or employees}) was
screwed up by some manufacturing flaw, or the final possible reason: god
doesn't like me. i think it's the last one.
class tomorrow.
took 1 hour to get home...davis airporter
is gay.
no one, but scott, is home.
i got only one piece of junk mail during
the break.
i'm thinking of installing NT on my
system...maybe when i decide to format i will. i still don't know how to
install NT without first installing 95...i don't have the boot disk so
it sucks...it is the disk that has the inital setup info on it. gay shit.
phil's going to try and get it...i need to send the shit to him. didn't
have time to drop it off at his house.
1 hour of class and 2 of work.
my schedule
is fucking jacked this quarter...i'm going to die.
gay is the second best word ever.
need to update campus cinema page.
shit
did install sarah's printer successfully.
wow.
you should goto www.fontaddict.com
and download some fonts.

it's 3am, i've been up since 7 and had about 5 meals, 4 hrs of work, 2
hrs of finals, 1 hour of hardcore sex and 3 hours of repenting.
night
3-18-99
added gay shit to the very bottom of the page...we'll see if it helps.
long day: kdvs from 2-4, sleep 5-9, 9-9:02 talk with mom, 9:02-9:03 talk
with boss...there IS work today. 10-12 cover for shirley at work, 12-1

mon. work 1-4
tuesday final from 1.5-3.5. 6p leave 4 home
latin is dumb.
tis all.
3-15-99
work was gay, but then again when isn't it.
feature site for the meanwhile is this
bitch's site, don't worry, she is a self-proclaimed bitch...warning
she says some REALLY politically incorrect things...I don't agree with
some I do with others, but this is a cool way of giving opinions without
having to take the responsibility for having said them. =Þ
i updated the feature page...nothing new, but i wanted to have it on the
feature page since i don't use it enough.
finals coming up...macro should be my biggest problem. latin could be the
shocker though...the tests have been getting harder and harder and the
final is a big part of the grade. i'll need to study for that.
that's all
3-13-99
updated cd list...look at it?
almost done listening to all my cds through, every song...jeez
weekends are boring.
3-13-99
everyone and their left nut has decided to go skiing tomorrow.
the show was bad. technically we screwed up too much, some dead air, songs
going on the air while another was playing etc. it wasn't horrible, but
it was our worst ever and it came at the worst time...prime time.
there isn't much to do on the internet.
balancing my checkbook is my favorite activity.
i get too much crap e-mail, i get too many crap phone calls, i get too
much crap mail.

ammendment:
ben lee is good, we played him on kdvs. ship my body home is a good
song, check it out at the grandroyal radio. here
is the playlist, this is only what they have played recently, and what
they are currently playing, so check out the fucking link below so you
can listen to it. it's good offbeat music.
oh yea, FYI: propellerheads is signed with grandroyal, that's cool.
take california.
• almost forgot: mybookmarks.com is a good site. backup your bookmarks
there...also make them public there...i'm working on that. in the meantime
check out my (cdawg) bookmarks here
easier than i thought. here are my bookmarks using their system: gaymarks
3-12-99 1am
macro quiz, technically today, will be a drag...macro is getting really
hard, at the worst time.
from 8-10, yes premium time...vern and i will be on air here
we are filling in since the sports program is over for the quarter.
latin quiz will be the basic pain. except more so since there is sure to
be recap of the pluperfect, perfect, fut. perfect, passive pluperfect,
gay gay gay...and so on.
is 'nother' a word? well then why do we say 'that's a whole nother story'?
infix.
winamp should be out soon. good.
beastie boys have anounced their make-up dates
rage against the machine seemingly will never release their album....jeesh
kdvs has learned me much about non-popular music, namely that there is
some good shit out there...you just need to look hard...i don't like looking
very hard.
coyotemen, causey way, and cindy blackman are the best non-popular bands/artists
that i've found at kdvs.
i don't owe anymore money to the big bad credit card companies.
'leroy' called today offering a great new deal for discover card customers...lame
some other chick called just a few days ago with the same offer, for the
first 30 seconds i listened then when she asked a question i told her (as
i was playing madden 99) that i had just dropped a pass and she should
call back never. she said okay, i hung up.
telemarketers are the lowest scum on the face of the planet.
grandroyal is good. they now have a 24hr shoutcast server...here
it's prety good. it's nothing completely new, but it is one of the first
commercial labels to do that. of course they have that at www.bringthenoise.com...
hip-hop of course. and chuck d is working on it...he also released public
enemy's swindler's lust on mp3 on the webpage. it's a cool track. www.public-enemy.com,
i believe.
hip hop is ahead of other genres. but they have more losers than any other
genres, except the obvious country gays.
long update, mostly crap, no one cares.
3-7-99
beastie boys rock
been talking with this guy over icq...he has his own beastie boys site
(the beastie shrine)
he knows practically everything about them...he has basically everything
they have ever done, and he's even hooked me up with a couple mp3s. even
better he lives in sac.
i'm not sick anymore...24 hour piece of shit i guess.
x-files was okay.
nothing much to report
mp3 lists have been updated...
3-5-99
190 visitors last month, that's 13 more than the month before, and it was
a short month.
i'm sick, it sucks, hopefully i can get someone to cover for me at work.
took latin quiz today in a hazy state due to my cold. it sucked, but we
can drop one grade so it should be okay.
my microecon midterm was eh, i got a C+, 4 points over the mean.
black sabbath is a good band
i've gotten 7 hits from the netherlands...don't know why, but that is the
highest number of hits from another country, canada is in second with 6.
probably people from icq.
put a counter on campuscinema site...holy shit...they get a lot more visitors
than i thought, it's up to 629 and the counter was only on for a few weeks...jeesh.
it's gotten weird hits from the us military, italy, singapore, canada and
others...the us military one was a bit of a surprise.
the distribution of hits i really funny too, most of my hits come between
10-11 pm most of the campus cinema hits come between 3-4pm.
enough of boring crap
students kick ass. students are some the smartest coolest people around,
they are also some of the dumbest, but students are still cool in my book.
click on my sponsor.
i'm sick.
bye
3/1/99
that microecon quiz after the curve was no longer a C it is now a B-. good.
latin is not so good - i don't like learning new languages, whether they
be with numbers or letters....that's why math and foreign languages suck
for me.
campus cinema page is going well i don't spend much time on it, but it
is better than before, and now it has frames and a few added features and
hopefully i'll figure out, or get help on, forms. if you know how to do
them using html or java, tell
me.
i'm going to go do my latin hw on relative clauses.
updated mp3 page, but not list, yet.
February Archive:
2-25
got a C on that microecon quiz...the average was lower than that...it was
a bit tricky
biggest news today is that i finished updating the campus cinema page...it's
up and the link is now on
my sidebar. tell me what you think and if you see ANY screw ups tell me
before i make a fool of the school.
that's all.
2-21
Latin quiz was pretty good, i'll pass the class, econ wasn't that great,
i'm getting a C in Macro and probably a B or high B in Micro.
found run dmc's christmas in hollis on mp3...it rocks and it's also the
first real song they played in die hard..."Bruce Willis: How about some
christmas music" Argyle: "this IS christmas music!" (the music turns up
and the beginning of the second best movie ever is underway.
Johnny came up, that was cool, I don't know why he doesn't do it more often,
at least the weekend wasn't a complete bore.
work on Sunday's sucks.
i slimmed down my mp3 list by 24 songs (i got two cds, but that only eliminated
about 7 songs...the rest weren't being listened to).
2-19
show was pretty cool.
we played some hip-hop that i picked out...just a few songs, but it was
pretty good the guy before us plays hip-hop and even commented on the music
i picked out...it was cool.
we had some funny moments, but it wasn't as good as the last show.
i went to the public-enemy.com website...it's pretty nice and has an mp4
(exe) file on it...along with a mp3 version of the same free song, they
da bomb. chuck d even visits the website's message board and posts some
of his own information or comments...that's pretty dope, i wish the beastie
boys did that.
I checked out Run-DMC's greatest hits LP at KDVS...it rocks, i'm going
to have to get some public enemy and run dmc as soon as i win the lotto.
gotta study for latin.
2-17
got the radio show tonight...we'll see about that.
got a hit from thailand...cool
i'm using IE 5.0 and Outlook express from now on...not because they are
that great but because netscape messenger crashes and ie 5.0 is quicker.
that's all...oh i'm going to try and get NT 4.0...i'll use that the next
time i format.
2-14
got work in the morning.
phil is here along with his girlfriend - andrea.
phil brought me the discontinued cd case, some beastie boys stuff...ill
communication on vinyl, a sticker and a HUGE poster. oh and he brought
some nice speakers too.
computer was giving me some problems...almost formatted, but i think i
may have solved the problem, cross fingers.
i'm officially the updater for the campus cinema webpage. i went in and
talked with susan, the student director, and she was really cool and basically
told me that i could do whatever i wanted with the page...her brother had
previously worked on it and it looks like he put a lot of work into it...there
are backup copies of the webpage that look pretty nice...i'm going to see
what i can do to improve on it...so far i've done only small stuff like
having the subject field filled out automatically when trying to get free
tickets. i got rid of the index page because it was one of those click
here to enter deals. fixed up a few other tiny things...nothing big, yet.
work is going to suck...i'm going to apply to jamba juice in a couple weeks.
i need to find a job for the summer while i'm up here...i also need to
find what classes i'm going to take, if i'm going to take them. YMCA is
the first priority.
rearranged my side of the room...again, that's twice this year for a total
of 3 different configurations in 5 months...it's more than it sounds like.
i'll have pics up soon enough. well a month or so anyway.
2-9
Phil is coming up in just two more days...eagerly awaiting his arrival.
I got an A- on my Microeconomics midterm....ah yea.
latin is borin as ever but i only have 15 more weeks until i am completely
done with it.
still not sure what i'm doing this summer...could be summer school, maybe
not. i definitely have to goto YMCA camp with Sarah though. Hopefully I'll
have time to see Johnny, get a job, and goto school.
no one has commented on my new sponsor link...i think it is the best part
of the 'new' page.
i probably won't update past thursday until tuesday when phil leaves.
i need lots of compressed air, quick.
2-4
show tonight...www.kdvs.org...the real audio might not be working though.
sorry.
speaking of their webpage, i might be the webpage updater for kdvs soon
enough...we'll see, no promises.
get back my microeconomics test on monday...grades posted on weekend...think
i did pretty well.
later
2-2
updated rants page.
Feb. 1st: (updated while listening to Queen's Greatest Hits)
part of my webpage overhaul will be to give my slant on issues that address
all of us...corny? yep!
i'm also going to slim down the number of pages i have. I've gotten rid
of the pictures page and added it to the now almost blank about me page.
I've added images as you can see. I'm going to add my commentary when you
suggest
something
I updated my mp3 list...winamp produced version and my own version.
Just as an aside from the webpage overhaul info: Jorgay (Jordan, I now
call him Jorgay, just because he is worthy) has a piece of 8 X 11 paper
posted next to his bed that reads: "Remember that everyone you meet is
afraid of something, loves someone and has lost something" -Hope Hill.
The person this is attributed to, Hope Hill, is a friend from LA. The statement
struck me as so completely true and touching that I had to make my own
response to it, here it is.
To think that such geniuses such as Einstein, Socrates, and Jesus (cough)
have come before us, yet never ever said anything as true as what Hope
was able to say. I'm speechless.
I encourage you to check out the about me
page...i've updated it since the previous lines...it doesn't have much
directly about me, but one can figure out from the links etc., much about
me.
I think that's enough updating for today...more to come when I feel
like it.

this page is boring
super bowl kinda sucked. chandler choked, and had he had a semi-average
game for him then atlanta would have been there in the end...maybe a chance
to win.
suggestions
on changing this page? it's already easy to navigate...how about aesthetics?
that's all for now...next month i might have something cool
Jan 29 99
nothing interesting to report.
will update mp3 list soon enough
added list of domains that have visited me: here
the feature page has been updated with lots of links
and my nfl prediction - Atlanta by 3
that's about all for now.

Y2deez nuts
radio show went well, have most of it on tape.
need to go to sleep.
i'm thinking about updating my meta tags some more to get more hits.
i have 3.5 hours of work tomorrow - covering for someone again.
two quizes tomorrow so i should sleep
121 visitors so far this month, up from 112 for dec, 62 nov, and 51 for
october...i'm getting more hits every day...that's cool.
still just that one hit from altavista, so far no more from search engines.
got a hit from bulgaria and hong kong the other day.
i'm sure everyone really cares...

* Johnny's Grammys are done, but came out very disappointing. Pulp swept
all over and torn got best video for some strange reason...i guess the
people that were voting hadn't seen intergalactic or body movin'. i've
thought about having my own grammys, but decided not to.
* 13.5 hours of work in three days - that sucks.
Jan 15 99
* updated mp3 list, uploaded mp3 list on word 7.0 format too.
* renamed the movies.htm file in the lists directory to faves.htm,
just in case you care or come across a link that points to that file, but
doesn't exist.
* click here
for sponsor
* go here for the body movin'
video, it rocks and if you haven't seen it, it's worth the 42 meg download.
you may want to use getright
or a similar program in order to be able to resume the download.
* do you like the stars or the dots that i was using before? mail
me to inform me.
* i saw clerks today, excellent film. if you don't mind sick humor
i'd fervently suggest it. made on a budget easily under one million $,
it makes you wonder how many great films we missed by making such pieces
of shit like titanic and waterworld. the sabotage video was made for 100
grand, whereas m. jackson's 'scream' video was over 7 million bucks...what
a shame.
* now have the top ten albums of the 90s (thus far) kind of hard to
come up with ten really great ones...90s weren't too solid, but it did
produce the three best ever.
* from the song Freedom by Rage Against the Machine:
"for all the diamonds / they’ll use a pair of clubs to beat the spades"
My
Interpretation/Info:
for all the diamonds means for all the money (diamonds representing money),
they’ll use a pair of clubs to beat the spades means that they will use
clubs (like bats, sticks etc.) to beat (hurt, kill, batter, wound etc.)
the spades (spades are tools used to farm therefore they probably represent
farmers or the lower class. In summary: for money the elite will use weapons
to injure or hurt the lower class.

show is one week from now. listened to the guys that alternate with vern
and i - they have pretty good chemistry when they talk, but their music
doesn't flow very well and they use bands that are a little too well know
(a no no in genres other than jazz, blues, latin and reggae).
updated my custom cd list! it now
has the 'best songs ever' mix and the 'best albums ever' mix...proud of
these, so check em out (they be under the themes link).
I would encourage all of you to listen to KDVS
from 8-10 on thursdays, meagan is the dj, i've never met her, but she's
got bomb ass music...rock n' roll. not classic rock, but it's awesome.
you'll wonder why some of the stuff hasn't made it into the mainstream.
i've finally gotten audiograbber 1.4 working
feature page is slightly updated
big news: i got my first hit from a webpage - altavista.com (mp3+list)
was the search...i guess the meta tags did help out.
yay

Break is over. I'm back.
Had the first show on KDVS (campus radio station) today from 2-4am. It
was fun and Vern and I did pretty well. We are going to be on every other
thursday from 2am to 4am, so look for us on the 21st. Goto KDVS
web site for the real audio broadcast.
I updated my schedule, there was a change in my work schedule, I seem to
be the work shift whore, which I guess is okay for now because I need the
money.
X-Mas earnings: HP 560C color printer, laser pointer, clothes, receiver
(Sony STR-DE915 w/ dolby digital the works!), money, money, money, money,
money.
I've updated the feature page, it has
some hot links y'all should check out. I will also update my links
page.
